Anyone want to test v2.1 (Beta)?

OK, Beta 3 uploaded. Give it a try - it has some performance improvements, that I hope might make a difference to your lagging, but some changes will require testing - it seems to function as normal but let me know if you notice any strange behaviour, and of course, if it does or does not make a difference to the lag.

The first post has been update - the same like should get you 2.1.3beta

Hey, i discovered xmbc was set on low priority, tho before i found this the optimizing you did was noticable. now that xmbc is on high priority, it has alot less glichyness, im gonna play for a few hours soon, and see how it goes.

Your setting the priority manually? XMBC is supposed to run its mouse thread at "realtime" priority but maybe that's not working - I have noticed lag under high cpu load in v2.0.

Maybe I need to run the process at a higher priority not just the thread (or maybe I screwed it up in v2 lol)

yeah i remember having it in realtime before, but now when i try to set it to realtime it say..... sek. nevermind it works in realtime now aswell. lol. played for about an hour and tho im recording with fraps, on not a topend computer, the glitchnyes wasnt noticable. Also, i found out that fraps can mess with the mouse, and i was recording to a really slow drive, switched to my raid0 drive, and it was all fine. I was really wondering wth was going on cus iv been recording my gaming for months without this problem ;P.

anyway all is good, i honestly wouldn't keep playing this game without it so thanks =).

ah yeah, i noticed the preformance gain before i switched to high priority, tho still unplayable with the various settings i had at the time, it was noticeable, im not really expericing the problem at all now so i couldnt say for sure =).

Great news - I will look into the realtime issue and check the thread priority and the process priority - maybe I need to up the process priority explicitly again but I'm glad that the performance has been improved in 2.1.3 - that's a really bonus as I really didn't want to rewrite the core again!

Global hotkey for disable XMBC doesn't seem to have desired effect. A tray notification will say XMBC is disabled but it behaves all the same, only right click the tray icon and check "disable XMBC" truly disables it. Has anyone else been able to reproduce the same problem?

Hi, I cant reproduce this here (2.1beta3), it seems to be working. Can you maybe enable debug logging and then send the log after you have enabled/disabled with hotkeys a few times?

Hi, I cant reproduce this here (2.1beta3), it seems to be working. Can you maybe enable debug logging and then send the log after you have enabled/disabled with hotkeys a few times?

Well from that, it seems that your hotkey is comming through twice so it disables and and the re-enables it.

I wonder is its something with the ALT F12 combo, for what its worth I tried ALT+SHIFT+X and that was OK. Does the icon change to a mouse with a red cross X in it (I'm guessing not or so fast you don't notice it).

I will try ALT F12 and see if it works here.
EDIT: Yes it works here with ALT F12... doh!

Hummm, looking at the timings, it is actually 15 seconds or so between the keys.. and in that time, nothing gets logged (which suggests that XMBC is indeed disabled). So now it makes even less sense.

Did you just delete the last message you sent (about it not working in the firefox profile)?

Yeh, actually, as long as "scroll page instead of line" is checked in profiles, hotkey doesn't work, but right click on tray icon to disable does.

Ahhhh do you mean it stays scrolling in pages? That makes sense - because its a global windows setting that XMBC toggles... so if its disabled, it wont continue to toggle it. So XMBC is in fact disabled, but the scroll pages is left permanently on for all windows.

Moving to the task bar to disable xmbc moves out of firefox, and thus disables scroll pages instead of lines before you then disable XMBC!

I think thats it...
So the solution.. hummm when disabling, reset the "toggle pages" option at that point I guess.
