Open website with run application feature

Post by austincurr »

I would like to cause my 5th button to default open a website in Firefox (my default browser).
The closest option,
the Run application option, says:
"Type the name of a folder, document, or internet resource, and XMouse button will open it for you when the button is pressed."

However, it will not launch anything but a .exe as far as I can tell.
Is the message incorrect, or is it a bug?

I have Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit on a Toshiba AMD Athlon dual core 2.1ghz with 3gb ram laptop.

Looks like a bug. Not sure if its ever worked with web sites but the text would suggest so as you say.

However, for now, there is a workaround.... Just put something like the following into the run command box....
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe www.[yoursite].com

And that should open the address in firefox.

Thanks,
Phil

Thanks for the quick response, and for the workaround, which I can't believe I didn't think of.
