Need zoom feature from scrolling
Hello, this is my first time on this forum & I'm new to using X mouse program. I first tried to search on this matter, but did not find a solution for what I need. My poor mouse died, so I'm using my backup one. My previous mouse had a zoom in & out feature built in to the scroll button. My present mouse does not have that feature, what a disappointment. I realize that Windows 7 has the press control button & use the scroll up or down will do the job, but what a hassle when comparing it to just using the mouse. I would like to use the press down on scroll button to act like the control & then while holding the scroll down I could scroll up or down to zoom in or out. I believe this is possible, but I can't figure out on how to do it. Does anybody know how to do this & can they explain please. Thank you very much. JD

Try this....
Layer 1
Middle button -> Layer 2
Layer 2:
Scroll up - sim keys: {CTRL}{MWUP} (pressed)
Scroll down - sim keys: {CTRL}{MWDN} (pressed)
Give that a try.
Thanks,
Phil

Ok layer 1 is easy to do, but when I go to layer 2, I can not figure out what or how to use what you have listed.
Layer 2:
Scroll up - sim keys: {CTRL}{MWUP} (pressed)
Scroll down - sim keys: {CTRL}{MWDN} (pressed)
When I click on layer 2 & then select wheel up or down, nothing happens. "When I press cntr. & scroll up & save, still does not work. I'm sure It's my fault, could you please walk me through with a little more detail? Thanks, JD

Another method; for the default profile in Layer 1 change Middle Button to Simulated Keystrokes, choose during from the drop down box and type {CTRL} in the entry field, click OK then Apply.
Now it should work like you want. Â Be forewarned, this is going to overwrite standard middle clicks, so you won't be able to do things like close tabs or windows with the wheel button anymore.

Re: Need zoom feature from scrolling
Now why didnt I think of that - yes MainTrane's suggestion is far better than mine - and does not require layers
Im not sure why my method cause you trouble though - may need to look into that seperatly.
MMB should have switched to layer 2 when held, and then the scroll up/scroll down combos for layer 2 should have been set to simulated keystrokes, as described.
Thanks,
Phil

Re: Need zoom feature from scrolling
It works. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I selected simulated keystrokes during cntr. {CTRL} How to send the simulated key: During (press on down, release on up) Works perfectly, you are brilliant. I donated a small token through pay-pal. Thanks, JD
