Just like the title says —> Enable/Disable Hotkey Not Working?
I’ve enabled global hot keys
I’ve assigned in the other hot keys tab, enable/disable xmbc to F8
I’m playing a game in full screen… when I hit F8, nothing happens. When I move the cursor to my other monitor, the F8 functionally works.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation of the software.
Thanks in advance

Re: Enable/Disable Hotkey Not Working?
Choosing F8 works for me here, so no, its not a limitation of the software per say...
However, I guess the first key question is, did you close the main XMBC GUI/Settings window after applying your changes?
Hotkeys are only active when the main settings window is closed (as stated on the hotkeys setup tab). This catches a few people out, but it was done intentionally so as not to interfere with the configuration of hotkeys itself!

Re: Enable/Disable Hotkey Not Working?
OK, in that case, I don't know why it would not work for you, unless maybe something else has taken that hotkey already (I doubt it!).
Is there errors in the log? Might be worth turning on debug logging... OK/Apply that, close the main window press F8 a few times, then send me the log.
Does any other key work (or key combo?) I usually use CTRL+ALT+E with no problem (although F8 also worked for me earlier when I tested it).
I am on the latest beta so there is a difference there I guess (but I don't think that's changed in many years so I doubt that will have any impact either).

Re: Enable/Disable Hotkey Not Working?
Late reply… I tried the above and that hotkey didn’t work as well. I still have to click on my other screen in order for the hotkey to work.phil wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 7:17 pm OK, in that case, I don't know why it would not work for you, unless maybe something else has taken that hotkey already (I doubt it!).

Re: Enable/Disable Hotkey Not Working?
Weird, I'm at a bit of a loss then, I wonder if the full screen game is taking over all keyboard input and blocking, so the hotkey is effectivly blocked.
Out of interest, do you have a scroll lock (Src Lk) key? That by default enables/disables the button mappings - does that work at all when in full screen?
