XMBC Version: 2.20.4
Installed or Portable version: Portable
Windows Version: Windows 11 24H2
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logitech MX Ergo
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc): Two devices with very different specs, both from HP
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?): no, it started somewhen after 2023, don't remember exactly
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?): no
How long have you used XMBC?: Decades
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: Language: EN, Keyboard: Swiss German
Problem
The problem only occurs on my work laptops, both running Win11. I have never observed it on my PC running Win 10.
After working for a while, and not on every day, XMBC seems to cause an issue when the focus keeps switching back to another program than the one I just activated. For example, when Chrome is open and I switch to any other window, it will immediately switch back to Chrome. In most of the cases, it helps to disable XMBC using Scroll Lock — but of course, the functionality of XMBC is also gone by doing that. In some rare cases, not even that helps, and I need to close XMBC completely. The problems start again right after restarting XMBC. Restarting the 'sticky' program (Chrome in the example) helps, but is not always an easy option.
Things I tried
All combinations of options regarding scrolling and activating the window under the cursor. Nothing helps.
I would like to try the latest beta version to see if the problem is also present there, but could not find a link to a portable beta.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Focus Switching with Portable v. 2.20.4
There are links to the portable beta in almost every post in the beta thread for 2.21 on this forum (well actually not links, the portable version is attached). On mobile so I can’t easily link it…
Defo worth trying that first as a lot has changed in 3 years and if it’s still a problem in the latest beta at least the codes will be up to speed which should make reproducing it and debugging it easier!!!

Ha, sorry for that. I was looking but only ever found the link that was not a link. Now, that you mention it, the thread is suddenly full of attachments - must have been a case of male fridge blindness
Thanks, I'll install the latest portable beta and let you know if the problem still occurs.
