This simulated keystroke button works good in maybe 95% of the time. But sometimes the code gets repeatedly stuck in the address bar, and i don't know a sure way to overcome that situation (sometimes opening XMBC's edit mode a couple of times seemed to help). Changing the WAITMS values also didn't really helped. If there's another way to get this job done, please let me know.
{F6}{WAITMS:450}{CTRL}c{WAITMS:450}{F6}
Is there a better way to fetch an URL from the browser?

Re: Is there a better way to fetch an URL from the browser?
I don't know - I didn't even know F6 focused the address/url text box - that's a new one on me!
However, I don't see what the problem could be in XMBC - especially with the wait's, without which can sometimes cause issues if things happen too quick.
Quite some effort has gone into improving stability of simkeys in the latest beta, so it might be worth trying that and seeing if it makes *any* difference at all! I've no idea what version your running seeing as you deleted the post template rather than filling it in... Tut tut tut!

Re: Is there a better way to fetch an URL from the browser?
At least in Firefox the F6 key seems to be the default key to focus the address bar's content/URL. And as i said, it works most of the time, so it might as well could have other reasons. So i follow your advise and try the beta48. As for the template, sorry. I wasn't sure if i have to use it for every post, but i will do it from now on, i have saved that text block in case i have more questions.
Thank you, i will give the 2.21 Beta48 a try, moving back from the installed version to a portable again.
Please fill in this template when posting!
XMBC Version: 2.21 Beta47

Windows Version: Windows 11 Pro 23H2
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logitech Signature M650
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc): Core i9-11900K / 16 GByte RAM
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?): Not sure, i might have added this function independently
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?): No
How long have you used XMBC?: ~ April 2025
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: german
Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).: as mentioned in the post

Re: Is there a better way to fetch an URL from the browser?
If you were already on beta 47 then going to 48 probably wont make any difference... I assumed you would be on 2.20.5... Which is why its always good to fill in the post template for a new thread - because I cant remember previous conversations which are probably unrelated
Better to fill it in just to make things clear to me (and anyone else looking).
I will have to try it here when I get a moment. I use firefox primarily so that's not a problem for testing!
