Possibility for combining Button Held and Button Chording actions?

Post by tomchr »

XMBC Version 2.20.5
Installed version
Windows 10 Pro
Logitech M330
T480s Laptop
Novice XBMC user
Danish keyboard layout

Description of the problem: Using Foobar2000, I would like to assign the following 3 actions to each of my mouse buttons:

1st action:
  • Left click = Normal / No change
  • Right click = Normal / No change
2nd action:
  • Left Held = Play/Pause
  • Right Held = Stop
3rd action:
  • Left/Right click (Button Chording) = Next
  • Right/Left click (Button Chording) = Previous

Is the above button combinations possible? I can see, that I can combine normal button clicks with Button Chording, since the option "Default (No Chord)" is available. However, since there is no "Button Held" option under the "Button Chording"option, I cannot combine a delayed/held click together with a normal click.

Another thing, is it possible to combine "Button Held" with changing layers? It seems that layers are not listed under the "Button Held" option.

If these options are not yet implemented/available, it would be great to see them in future versions of the app

In any case, thanks for a great app!

I'm afraid you cant combine held and chording. They are independent routines going on and you cant launch one from the other. It may be possible with a complete re-write but that's not going to happen any time soon/ever!...

You can change layers from simulated keystrokes, so possibly, using simkeys as the action and including {layer:x} at the end of any key sequence but again as soon as the layer changes its going to interfere with/cancel any ongoing held action (probably cancelling it - so I'm not 100% sure it will work to be honest)
