xmouse activate/deactive

Post by BoseRoHS »

Is it typical for xmbc to send an alphanumeric string when enabling/disabling it to the clipboard when used in conjunction of certain applications? The alphanumeric strings are 16 characters long.

It shouldn't - the only time XMBC should do anything with the clipboard is when you ask it to.
What is the string in-particular or does it change?
I wonder if its worth turning on debug logging, recreating it and then sending me a copy of the log.

I'm not home right now so I cant easily test it - but will try and have a look later this evening if I get a moment. Any specific things I need to try it with to recreate? You said certain applications? As much detail as possible would be useful!

nothing in the log. is there a verbose logging? I do not see anything in the search for verbose. The string is random alphanumberic always 16 characters. using clipboard fusion pro 6.0.1 beta 2, if that matters, chrome 113.0.5672.93 (Official Build) (64-bit) --private.

Yes there is a debug log... in settings -> logging and updates -> enable debug logging!
I would not expect the normal log to have anything!
I use similar clipboard utilities (good old Clipmate) which plays audio even when copying/pasting), so I think I would notice this if it were happening here - but then I don't activate/deactivate that often...

I know there is debug, but where is the verbose option?
The log file I posted is from the debug. I created a new folder and changed the default directory, and this is the output from debug. That's perhaps ten minutes of fiddling around with alt+1 and watching the random alphanumchars post to the clipboard.

Actions I took after enabling debug, chrome --private is open, launched the app within chrome, after the app within chrome opened, I executed the shortcut keys alt+1 to enable/disable xmbc. I have clipboard fusion on top watching some random alphanumeric 16 character string copy to the clipboard each time I enable/disable xmbc and that's it. It doesn't display anything while using any other shortcuts or mouse settings. I'll have to check if it happens with any other apps, but at this moment it's just this single application running within chrome.

Sorry, that is NOT the debug log - thats most definitely the standard log without debug enabled. When you enable debug logging, its is MUCH more verbose (but you do have to OK/Apply that setting). For starters, when you enable debugging, you will get a message along the lines of:

Code: Select all

16-05-2023 07:42:20.278> Enabling extra debug logging (from toggle debug hotkey). X-Mouse Button Control v2.21 Beta 15 (x64). Hook Timeout: 1000 ms
as well as a dump of the previous debug messages (100-200 lines) and then between 5 and 25 lines per second depending what you are doing. Including the log of every button pressed and what action is taken.
