Oh, Ive not noticed that myself, Can you please turn debug logging on (settings, updates and logging, OK and APPLY that).
Then sleep your computer.
Resume your computer (hopefully the cursor has slowed at this point)

And send me a copy of the debug log file, post it here by PM or send it to me at phil [at] highrez dot co dot uk

That might give me enough info to figure out what is going on.

The log file has been generated, I operated twice, the second time the movement speed was affected.

Well that is most odd.... XMBC logs any time IT changes the mouse cursor speed (or enhanced pointer precision) and there is no mention of it in the log.
That leaves me to believe its not XMBC that is messing with it.

Although it is possible that one place has missed logging changes, so I'm not 100% sure yet. I will add that missing log in the next version, but I cant do much else as there is very little to go on so far!

I wonder, if you quit/exit XMBC completely, so it is not in play, and then suspend/resume a few times, does the same problem occur or not?

In v2.20.2, the problem persists and new situations have emerged. The normal speed is 10, the speed becomes 5 after sleep, the speed becomes 7 after turning off XMBC, and the speed returns to 10 after running XMBC again.

Also, the picture will turn to a red background after sleeping

The red background is to indicate that debug logging is turned on....
And I didn't expect any changes in 2.20.2 as nothing was done to actually investigate/fix it yet - except adding a few lines of debug where it changed speeds (intentionally) that were missing, as well as the "Flusing 80 recent lines of debug log..." - oops spelling mistake!

The only thing I can see in the log, when you exit XMBC, is this:
05-03-2023 09:10:22.102> Reset mouse cursor speed to system default (12)

But there is no other indication of XMBC changing the speed (at startup, at resume or anything else).
And be aware, that the 12 above may be on a different scale to the slider in Windows.

To be honest, I may need to build you a version with more logging, but to me, it looks like something else might be getting involved here (i.e. not XMBC changing it)...

I will ask again, as you didn't seem to answer/try this...
If you quit/exit XMBC completely, so it is not in play, and then suspend/resume a few times, does the same problem occur with the cursor speed or not?

Another thing in addition to the test above, can you please send me a copy of your settings? Use the Save Profile button and send me the resulting file!

Are you aware, the cursor slider in Windows 10/11 has a scale from 1 to 20, but the old cursor control panel (and XMBC) has a scale of 1-10? the Windows 10/11 settings effectively is double the slider value in XMBC. So if it is set to 5 in XMBC that should equal 10 in Windows 10/11 settings but 5 in the old Windows control panel mouse settings (thanks Microsoft for the confusion). I am adding additional (debug) logging and will send you a test version, after you have answered the question in RED above and sent me the file.

After I turned off XMBS completely, I took a sleep test and I didn't have any problems with my movement speed. However, it is true that the default speed of win10 does not coincide with the default speed of XMBS.
After repeated experiments, I found that it was definitely an XMBS problem. When XMBS is running, the speed of the mouse after sleep is about 1/2 of that before sleep.

So, could it be that XMBS called the old API, wrote 1-10 to the configuration file, and directly used the new API (1-20) to read this configuration after win10 sleep, instead of from XMBS or the old API, resulting in only 1/2 speed.

No, not possible, the API has always been 0-20 lol....
The old control panel and XMBC just multiplies the value by two before calling the API!

BUT AS I said, EVERYWHERE the value is changed in XMBC, it is logged... and there is nothing in the log, therefore XMBC has not set the value at all. Which makes no sense to me!

I have added more logging (as I said) and I'll probably email you that version - but it wont fix it, it will just tell me the values XMBC reads from the system mouse speed after it restarts etc. as I know (from the log) that XMBC is not changing this value intentionally, I just want to read it and see if it has changed... Because right now, nothing makes sense.

I kind's hope I can reproduce it with your settings (will give it a try later), but I suspect, probably not. Its certainly an odd one!

I tried different versions of XMBS and 2.19.2 sleeps normally without this problem, a problem that has arisen since 2.20. All versions are portable versions used.
So something must have been introduced in 2.20.
