Setting particular key mapping.

Post by Dauko »

Hi, it's my first post here, I'm not filling template in beacuse I think it's unnecessary in this case. During brief search in this forum I didn't find answer to my problem.

So my problem is: for single application, I want right mouse button to simulate {DOWN} when pressed, and I did it with no problems ("Simulated Keys: (during)[{DOWN}]"), but moreover, I want it to simulate single E-key press when right mouse button is released ("(released)[E]"). I can do both of mappings, but I don't know how to make them work simultaneously in single layer (and even if it is possible). IDK if it's important information but I'm using current mapping (and I'm going to use it) only in DOSBox.

Thank You for help in advance.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

If you mean you want to press down followed by e, then the answer is:
{down}e

If you mean you want to press e followed by down, then the answer is:
e{down}

If you mean something else, please explain!

Thank You for help, after reading your post I tried various combinations and finally I found what I was looking for.

The thing I needed is "(during)[{DOWN}{OU}{HOLDMS:36}E]". Earlier, before I wrote my first post, I tried "(during)[{DOWN}{OU}E]" but simulating E-key seemed to work rarely (once upon maybe few % of releases). When I was trying variuos combinations now, I got enlightment that programs I am running inside a DOSBox (Ultimate Doom and Doom 2) works in 35 miliseconds long "frames", and thus they detect if button is pressed only once upon 35 miliseconds, then I tried "(during)[{DOWN}{OU}{HOLDMS:36}E]" and it works exactly as I want :D.

Thanks for help anyway :D.
