Logitech LIFT and XMBC

The behavior of the extra keys is incorrect.

If such settings behave correctly on "Logitech MX Vertical".

Mouse Button 4 - Simulated Keys: (repeat)[{PGDN}]
Mouse Button 5 - Simulated Keys: (repeat)[{PGUP}]

Then on "Logitech LIFT" only a single operation occurs. Doesn't repeat when you hold down a key.
This is due to the fact that on this mouse the operation occurs not on pressing, but on releasing the button.
If we press and hold the button, nothing happens until we release it.

If the mouse does nothing on button pressed (does not send to windows any indication that the button is pressed) then Im not surprised it does not work.
If this a physical button? Normally the scroll up/down and tilt left/right (wheel) behave like this. Ive not seen physical buttons behave in this way.

Even stranger, when physically releasing the button, it sends a pressed and released.

Anyhow, XMBC is never going to work well with such a device, and if you cant change the behavior through the Logitech software, then there is nothing I can do about it, sorry!

Yes, it's a physical button.
I'll deal with this situation more.
Native software is not installed on Win 7.
This mouse has a new transceiver.
But it is strange that PGDN or PGUP works on release without repetition.
As if in this device Pressing and releasing are mixed up.

It is more likely, that when you release the physical button, somehow then it sends both a pressed and released message when you release the physical button.
The debug log should confirm this (it logs all the button messages that XMBC sees along with the timestamp that it received them).
There will be no repetition because the button is never held down as far as Windows/XMBC is concerned.

Just had a look and yes, my suspicions confirmed.
It is sending a button DOWN and then between 8 and 38 milliseconds later, a button UP follows it (near enough immediately). So the Logitech software must be doing that (both) as you release the button. So unless that is something you can configure in the Logitech software (maybe you will need to ask Logitech!) then I think you will be out of luck - XMBC will not be able to fix this. The best you could do would be to use sticky repeat (keep repeating until the button is pressed a second time).


If I were you I'd contact Logitech and ask them why the button does not work when held down. Its as if it only triggers when it is released, but you have software (maybe don't mention XMBC - that may not have the desired result!) that expects it to be held.
