[DUPLICATED] XMBC Breaks Scroll Wheel for any WinUI app

Post by andrepaulo »

Please fill in this template when posting!
XMBC Version: 2.19.2
Installed or Portable version: Installed
Windows Version: Windows 11 Pro, 22H2 (22621.1105)
Mouse Information (brand/model): Krom Kahn
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?): Can't remember, I feel like it's always been like this
How long have you used XMBC?: 2-3 years
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: Windows is in English (UK), Keyboard PT-PT

Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).: XMBC breaks the scroll wheel for any WinUI App. It doesn't need to be configured, just by having XMBC running, it prevents the scroll.

Steps to reproduce: (I just tried it on a Windows Sandbox with the latest versions of the software)
Install Power Toys (from Microsoft, or use any other WinUI App)
Check that scroll wheel is working on the app.
Install XMBC
Try to scroll again on Power Toys screen.
It will not work anymore.

If you check Issue #21998 on Microsoft/PowerToys they mention that the problem is on XMBC that breaks all WinUI Apps.

SO I presume, disabling the scroll window under cursor fixes it?
I'll have a look and see if I need to do anything to apply this automatically (as I did for the files app) - as a user of PowerToys myself it shouldn't be too difficult to check!

Yep that fixed it!

Also tried to install the beta on a new sandbox, and it also fixed that issue!

Thanks so much for your work!

From what @crutkas said on the GitHub issue: github .com/microsoft/PowerToys/issues/21998#issuecomment-1430330313

This will affect all WinUI app, I also noticed this problem on a different app the other day, but I can't remember which one was it (already was used to this problem)

OK Good news - yes it makes sense, I think I added support for WinUI apps as the fix for the reported bug in the files app you linked to above.
But good to know that it is working and I don't need to spend more time on it :)

I hope to be releasing 2.20 fairly soon - a few minor loose ends to clean up first though!
