Ah OK, I didn't know that existed... But that makes more sense, as it makes even more sense that it would needs to be updated for the new firefox I guess.

Although 2.20 fixed the scrolling issue on the main window of Firefox 110 for me, the issue persists in the save dialog of Firefox (it is not scrolling the files/folders list).

The standard windows save as dialog? When you select save page as? Or another window (like the download library)?
Ironically the fix for firefox accidentally broke all sorts of other scrolling (but remapped, not native wheel). That will be fixed in the next release - but probably isn't this issue unless you have remapped to Scroll Window Up/Down!

Thanks for the tip. I had remapped the "wheel up" to "wheel up" and "wheel down" to "wheel down" when I was trying to troubleshoot the previous version. Changing it to "do not intercept" fixed the problem.
BTW it was the save as dialog when I was trying to save a picture from the web.

Ah OK that's good news - the next version will fix the scroll up/down mappings too - but really you should avoid mapping the wheel to scroll up/down unless there is a real good reason to do so (as it impacts performance slightly, intercepting and re-sending).

I hope that new version will be built tomorrow - I'm ready to go but I'm waiting for a response from someone else with a very similar report to this (so I hope its the same). But I'd rather not release 2.20.1 only to find out instantly that there is still a related problem!

Help!

I may just be confused, but on my PC (Windows 10 Home 64) when using Firefox 110.0.1(64 bit) and XMBC v2.20.2 I still have to have "Disable Scroll Window Under Cursor" selected on the options tab in order for the wheel scrolling function to work. It is my understanding that I should be able to uncheck that option with the latest set of updates. Is that incorrect? With "Disable Scroll Window Under Cursor" selected is that an issue on other programs/apps?

You should not have to check "Disable Scroll Window Under Cursor" for Firefox in 2.20 (or later).
The profile's option tab applies to that profile ONLY. If you are on the default profile then it will apply everywhere (much the same as the setting in the global settings tab of the settings button).

you could create a profile just for firefox, then it will not impact anything else. But actually, the whole scroll window under cursor is a legacy thing and is not required *most* of the time in Windows 10/11 as Windows does it automatically anyway. So turning it off is no big deal (except maybe for some old legacy programs that don't support the scroll wheel properly).

BUT You shouldn't have to do anything in 2.20.x for Firefox - maybe there is something I have missed. I would be curious to know:

If you enable debug logging in XMBC settings updates and logging tab (then OK & APPLY!) then try scrolling Firefox it might give some clues as to whats up... Send me a copy of the log file so I can check and see if there is anything obvious I have missed!

Ive replied...

But I've also just noticed in the log, ALL of your wheel messages are INJECTED (that means they are simulated messages).
Have you change the wheel up/down dropdowns in XMBC? If so, what to?
And if you change them back to "No Change (Don't intercept)" does it fix the problem?
Or maybe you have inverted scrolling - maybe that's the culprit!

Ahhh it looks like you have your wheel down set to "Mouse Wheel Up" and wheel up set to "Mouse Wheel Down" - I guess because you wanted to invert scrolling?

This is breaking scrolling in firefox for me too.

There is a much better way to invert scrolling, more efficient and still works with firefox :)...
Leave the wheel up/down as "No Change (Don't Intercept)" and tick "Invert Scrolling" on the scrolling tab (!!)

But I will fix the configuration you have too!

Phil,

Actually that wasn't inverting scrolling and I have no memory why I did that (long ago). So I reset those settings to "don't intercept" and deselected ""Disable Scroll Window Under Cursor" and scrolling works now in Firefox (though I'm happy to have been able to find a glitch for you to fix :D  )

PS: I replied to your message
