App stops working

Post by orc886 »

Hi,

The application stops working after returning from hibernation
Also when starting another application, it won't work for that app as well and I will have to restart X-Mouse

When trying to start X-Mouse again, I have to close the app and then start it twice, until it shows the tray icon.

I'm running X-Mouse v2.5 on a Win7 32bit

Thanks,
Or

If you "disable" and "Enable" XMBC from the tray icon, rather than exiting and restarting, does it also fix the problem (if so, it would suggest a hook issue which maybe I could do something about by reinstalling the hook on reception of a resume from hibernate event.

Can you enable debug logging, reproduce the problem and then send me the log.
Because hibernation is quite common these days, I would expect more people to have this problem (including myself) if it was a common issue, so the chances are its some configuration or compatibility issue with other software you have. And of course, that means its going to be very difficult to debug and fix, so the more information the better :)

Of course, I invite you to try the latest beta 2.6b5 (check the beta topic atop the XMBC main forum) too as there are some general stability fixes and changes to the way XMBC is launched and run on Windows Vista & Later.

Thanks,
Phil

Just notice debug logging was off, although I've set it to ENABLED
Anyway, the log does show entries from today

Please tell me if I need to check again

The debug log is only enabled while the program runs. Next time you load it, it will be disabled again, this is by design because it significantly effects performance and its not a good idea to leave it on.

At first glance, there is nothing useful in the log for today because of this :( I will have another look tonight.
