X-mouse button sends "scroll down" and "simulated key"

Post by chuugokujin »

Hi,

I have Win7 64 bits. I tried to bind my "scroll down" action to simulate a hotkey '=', for game Warhammer Online. However it not only did the '=' hotkey I wanted, but also sent "scroll down" as well. By default the scroll down action is to zoom in the camera, so it makes the camera zoom in all the time when I have to use the hotkey.

Could anyone help me to stop sending "scroll down" action at all?

It sounds to me like the game is hooking the mouse (getting the input) at a lower level than XMBC.
If you try setting the scroll to "Disable" in xmbc, does it still work in the game?
Also if you have a specific profile for the game, just to be sure, try setting the default one to disable aswell (only for the scroll wheel).

If that is the case (setting it to disable does not effect the ingame scroll), then unfortunatly there is little XMBC can do to prevent this.

Many games get mouse data at a lower level than mouse hooks. The only way to intercept/change that would be at the mouse driver level, and that would required the manufacturer to provide specific driver that allow such remapping.

Thanks,
Phil

You are right, even the default profile does not affect the game. Guess there is no way to do it then.

Thanks for fast reply.
