I'm not sure why you are posting this question in the beta topic. More to the point, I am not sure why you are asking it at all as it is answered in the FAQ and many other places through the forum (so I wont bother repeating myself).

phil wrote: Sun May 19, 2024 4:56 pm Urm yes I guess there are 35 of them!
First question though, was it all OK in 2.20.5 (the last release?)
I cant remember making any changes for scroll stuff but its been a while, so worth checking the last release. *IF* its working there, then maybe go through the beta's till it breaks- will help narrow down where the problem got introduced (if it was OK before).
Hi Phil
about 2.20.5 , x-mouse does not restore the default setting (wheel and scrolling ) when i reboot or shutdown windows without closing x-mouse first and after i reboot or shutdown
2.21 Beta 34,2.21 Beta 35 both work very well with many mouses on different computers windows 11 /10 and 7 , 64bit , i have tried even on some machines the sleep/locked windows features and and i have noticed really few crashes
i have used portable version 64bit
thanks Phil

Thanks for that, Ive been sitting on an internal version for a while, chasing down one specific issue that is bugging me and one other. Haven't got there yet (to be fair Ive been too busy recently, and I have a 3 week vacation coming up at the end of July, so I can be sure not much will happen till I get back from that (couldn't risk a release before it anyway if I;m not around to put out any fires!)

I will have to look in to the scrolling setting not saving, I thought I had fixed stuff like that fairly recently in beta 34 (#862)

Here is 2.21 Beta 38.

Changes since 2.21 Beta 37 (above) - sorry for the delay!:
  • #882 - Change Movement To Scroll locked mode displays wrong lock axis cursor initially.
  • #881 - Fixed an issue where activate on hover could trigger a minimized window to immediately reappear.
  • #879 - Fixed issue scrolling OneNote windows with "Scroll window under cursor" enabled.
  • #877 - Modified installer to fix {CTRL}{ALT}{DEL} not working on Windows 11 (security policy setting - can be overridden by group policy!).
  • #876 - Fixed issues with {RCTRL} and {RALT} simkeys not working as expected.
  • #868 - Further changes to try and improve cursor/icon scaling.
If you ever see the XBC bugtrap crash window popup (particularly for beta versions) asking you to report the crash, please do so (hit the send report button) and if possible, also contact me here on the forums, Discord or by email so I can try and get to the issue. Whilst the BugTrap logs do often help, they don't always give enough information to diagnose and fix the issue.

As usual, feedback welcome - especially if you find a bug! Any issues/problems, Enable debug logging, make a note of the time the problem occurs and then PM me a copy of the log file (or post a snippet of the last hundred lines or so in a code block here).

NOTE: If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only ~1/3rd of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get the full installation beta HERE. Note that this link will always get you the latest beta version!

Thank You for new update and that XMBC is still alive after so many years especially your other tasks you deal with.

Issue:

Can you change back an icon of XMBC used for taskbar? I am almost sure it's changed - previously that looked better.
Now it's non proportionally bloated on its left side and "from distance" the bottom shadow doesn't make it looks too good.

It has changed... In order to get it looking better at higher resolutions (like in the popup/notification window, and in explorer, I had to add additional high resolution images (that is important to some people apparently lol). I thought I left the 16x16 and 32x32 the same but I will check. It may be that Windows itself is taking a highres icon and "downscaling" it, which might make it tricky to put "back" if that's the case.

Having said that, I don't think it changed between beta 37 and 38...

I don't routinely do portable builds of beta versions.
The files are the same so you can extract them yourself (as explained before), the easiest way is to install it somewhere temporarily, copy the two DLL and one EXE files over to your portable folder (and then uninstall it).
But I've just made beta39 so maybe I can be persuaded to build a beta 39 when I make this one public (after the target user has checked if it fixes his specific problem (or maybe I'll promote it to 2.21 as is been far too long!) :)

Here is 2.21 Beta 40 (yes I know I skipped beta 39 - it was an internal build then I added some more!).

Changes since 2.21 Beta 38 (above) - sorry for the delay!:
  • #885 - Increased maximum allowable simkey repeat rate from 300,000ms (5 minutes) to 3,600,000ms (1 hour)
  • #884 - Reverted change to the tray icon (whilst leaving the app icon with improved resolution).
  • #880 - Attempt to fix problem with Change Movement to Scroll after resume from sleep. Added extra debug logging to assist!
I'm hoping this is getting close to release now, its been far too long!
As I was asked for a portable version of beta38, I have included a portable version for beta 40.

Am I right that now although tray icons are corrected they are not of same size depending on enabled/disabled status?

Ps. differently from how that was previously (in some older version)
