Can not get the middle button to do ALT+LEFT

Post by Stealth »

Any reason why I can not get the middle button to use ALT+LEFT so that it goes back on Firefox and in Folders?

No reason - I just tried it and its working here.
Maybe some more detail might be of use specifically:
Version of XMBC
Simulated keystroke text and and send method

FWIW, I used {ALT}{LEFT} with "As mouse button is pressed"

Thanks,
Phil

I am using the latest version of XMC and used the same keystroke text as you and As mouse button is pressed. Other things assigned to my middle button seem to be working also.

It seems it is actually working fine in Firefox now but not in Windows Folders where alt+left works when I press them

Strange, because that worked for me in both firefox and explorer.
Incidentally, why are you not using the BACK option in the main dropdown (instead of simulated keystorkes) - does that not work?

EDIT: also you could try using the "During..." option in simulated keystrokes.
Also you could enable debug logging and check that it is actually sending the key sequence (posting a relevant snippet of the log here might help me see anything wrong).

Thanks,
Phil

Well sir I am in fact a moron. I must of had the list scrolled down all the way to bottom and though that Open to Volume up were my only options! I changed it to back and it works fine in both Explorer and Firefox, not sure why they keystroke assignment was not working in Explorer but thank you so much!

I'm also not sure why the keystrokes are not working, but at least your problem is solved.
Its quite a long list, and it selects the current action which means its often not shown starting at the top.

Thanks :)

Also let me just say your program helped me solve a problem that 2 people and 3 hours on the phone at Logitech couldn't solve because they just refused to tell me that the keyboard I bought actually DOES NOT EVEN SUPPORT THEIR SOFTWARE (I found out it did not by searching their forums after they basically had me install and reinstall their software 10 times) With out your program I would have taken my keyboard + mouse combo back and possibly hurt someone at Logitech, so thank you again Phil!

Glad to be of service... Although I did smile at the thought of "hurting someone at logitech" - the same thoughts have crossed my mind in the past - but for some reason, I still use many of their products so they must be doing something right (even if its not the software bit!)

Thanks again for the feedback.
