Problem with Logi M650 L
X-mouse button doesn't recognize my Logi M650 L at all!
Is there a solution or a trick?

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
Not really sure what you mean,
Xmouse is device agnostic - it just hooks into Windows mouse message queues - it has no knowledge or visibility of the physical device. It is not supposed to "recognize" any specific mouse.
Do you mean it does not work, does not even highlight the configurable button drop-downs in orange when you press any of the mouse buttons?
Sometimes if you have the Logitech software installed, that can interrupt the messages before XMBC gets to see them - but that usually doesn't impact all buttons.

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
Hi,
That is true. The X-mouse button control recognizes and highlights each button. However, it configuring the button does not lead to a change or an action. it is like it is not installed.
There is a disconnection somewhere.

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
If XMBC is highlighting the buttons in orange, it means it is seeing the messages - so it therefore should be reacting and working as usual.
Because the same code that reacts and remaps the buttons, sends the messages to highlight the config screen dropdowns in orange - So that's a little odd.
It might be worth capturing some debug logging when this happens - it might give some indication as to what is going on? Turn on debug logging in settings, logging & updates tab, OK and apply that, then recreate - then send me (PM or email) the debug log and maybe there will be a clue in there.
Regards,
Phil

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
I purchased the Logitech M650 mouse. I ran into the problem that the button 4 and 5, XMBC does not process (does not light up with orange). Logitech software deleted, but this did not help. The log-file was sent to PM.
By default, the mouse was configured: button 4 (or 5) + wheel = scrolling the page to the right and right (like tilt of the wheel on some mice)
Thank's!

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
The Logitech M650 seems to be a new breed of Logitech mice which don't send the normal messages at all. There is nothing I can do about it, but you may be able to do make it work with the Logitech software. As I don't have such a mouse, I am not up to speed on how to configure it I'm afraid.

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
I hope that when you get a similar mouse and you will teach the program to work with it. It seems Logitech will gradually switch to this new standard in its products.
Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
You don't seem to get it. Its not a question of teaching XMBC to understand it. If the mouse does not send the usual messages through the usual channels, there is nothing I can do about it, as XMBC intercepts those messages (that are not there).
The only thing YOU can do about it, maybe, is to use the Logitech software to force IT to send the normal messages, that XMBC can then see. Unfortunately with this particular mouse, it seems you have to have the Logitech configured correctly, and running all the time.

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
I tried to apply this option. For example, I can send a 4 or 5 combination of keys to the XMBC (using Logitech software). But I don’t understand how to configure the XMBC that button No. 4 + the wheel changes the scale, and the button No. 5 + the wheel changed the volume. The only thing YOU can do about it, maybe, is to use the Logitech software to force IT to send the normal messages, that XMBC can then see.
I can even convey one key. For example, button No. 4 = Shift, button No. 5 = Ctrl
Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
I believe this mouse uses button 4 + wheel to scroll horizontally does it not?'
So if you press button 4 and scroll, XMBC will not see it because Logitech has intercepted it already and is scrolling? Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm sure I recall having this conversation with someone else with this mouse.
If you have the XMBC setup window open, and you press button 4 + scroll - what happens - does any of the button dropdown boxes highlight (in orange or blue) while button 4 is held and while the scroll wheel is scrolled with button 4 held?

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
Sorry, I was mistaken. You can one of the buttons 4 or 5, turn off the wheel tilt. Then I can process one button + wheel in XMBC. But the second button is still inaccessible to XMBC or will duplicate the first

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
Sounds like I need to buy me another mouse to figure out whats going on!
I'll do that, but no idea if I will be able to do anything about this - if buttons 4 and 5 are not there without the Logitech software, but do strange things with scroll with the software, it may be a no-win situation - unless there is some configuration in the Logitech software that helps. We shall see.

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
Maybe you turn on debugging and send a log with the time of the keystrokes after pressing the keys?
This will help to check what is happening at the program level, whether it matches what was said.

Re: Problem with Logi M650 L
Yes no sign of buttons 4 or 5 in the log - which means they are not being sent, presumably because Logitech has picked them up and done something else before they get to the windows mouse message queue.
As I said, I have ordered this mouse and will see what I can find, but if there is no option to "not do this" in the logitech software, I think this mouse will have to go on the incompatible/partially compatible list!
