How to cycle between keys for 1 mouse button?

Please fill in this template when posting!
XMBC Version: 2.19.2
Installed or Portable version: Installed
Windows Version: Win 10 21H1 x64
Mouse Information (brand/model): G502 Hero
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc): 5600x, 32GB RAM, 3080
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?):
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?):
How long have you used XMBC?: Couple weeks
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: English

Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).: I'm trying to have it so whenever I press a side button, the program cycles between pressing 1,2,3,4,5 on the keyboard, before repeating again. For example, press sidebutton > 1, press sidebutton again > 2, press sidebutton again > 3.. so on, until 5, and then repeat over again. Is this possible to do? I haven't figured out a way. Thanks so much.

You should be able to do this using layers, up to 10 in sequence (as you can have up to 10 layers).
On each layer, set the side button to simulated keystrokes, then enter the number 1,2,3,4,5 etc followed by {LAYER:NEXT} or {LAYER:1} in the last in sequence.

1{LAYER:NEXT}
2{LAYER:NEXT}
3{LAYER:NEXT}
4{LAYER:NEXT}
5{LAYER:1}

NOTE: You can have up to 10 layers but you have to enable them on the general settings tab under 'Number of layers'.
