Right-click button delay?

Post by rafikiphoto »

XMBC Version: 2.19.1
Windows Version: 10
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logitech MX Master 3
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc):
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?):
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?):
How long have you used XMBC?:
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?:

Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).:
I have an uncontrollable twitch in my right hand middle finger which constantly causes me to click the right mouse button needing frequent cancellation of the right-click menu. Is there a way to add a delay to the right click button so that the right click needs a longer press to activate?

I am a new user of this software so as detailed instructions as possible if there is a solution please.

Yes you can do this... Perhaps in several ways.
The easiest option,
  • On the right button, select "Button Held"
  • A new window should appear to configure it. For "Normal click" select "Disable"
  • Tick the first "HELD FOR" box and set to a desired time (500ms may be too long?).
  • Select "Right click" in the dropdown for the first "held for"
  • Turn off "Wait until the physical button is release before releasing the last timed action"
That should do it.

That did do it indeed, phil. 500 ms is fine for me, at first I thought right click had stopped working then I held it for a fraction longer and it works perfectly; better for my twitchy finger. Thank you. Much appreciated.
