Only enable if external mouse is connected

Post by Daniel15 »

Is there a way to only enable XBMC if an external mouse is connected? I know the FAQ says that the behaviour can't differ based on which mouse is being used, but my ask is much simpler: Enable when mouse is connected, disable when mouse is disconnected. Currently I do this manually. I suspect it could be done by hooking into some system even that occurs when hardware is added or removed, and enumerating the currently connected USB devices.

Thanks.

Probably there is no way to change from tray icon menu or by switching "Enable / Disable XMBC" with global hotkey setting, - unfortunately now. -
And if you use multiple mice with different number of buttons, you only need to set the optimized layers (switch with hotkey) or load XMBCP profile file for each one's on the main window.

I only use one type of mouse so that's not an issue for me :)

It might be possible to register in Windows for device installation notifications. I'll have a look but I cant make any promises at this stage.

Thanks,
