X-Mouse Button Control 2.14

Post by phil »

I've just released X-Mouse Button Control version 2.14

Version 2.14 brings a copule of new features, including the much desired mouse button chording.
You can find the latest version (including the portable version) in the usual place, on the downloads page (mirror).

For a complete list of changes, check out the version history.
The user guide (included in the installation but not the automatic updates) can also be found here or here (mirror). I have updated the user guide to reflect the changes in 2.14.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not post feature requests or bug reports in this topic. If you want something to be added or you have found a bug, please create a new topic where your issues or ideas can be discussed.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped me beta test this release, and to all those providing the language packs/translations.

I just updated and I do have a problem. I have a button on my mouse set to alt tab. In Win 7 this has always brought up the modal to choose an app to switch to as it still does when I press alt tab on my keyboard. With the update this is no longer working as it did. Now it is just switching between current and previous app.

That's odd, it still brings up the switcher here on windows 10 - I'll try it on Windows 7 and see whats going on.
Confirm, its doing the same on my windows 7 Vm too...

I'll take a look.
EDIT: Should be fixed in 2.15 Beta 1!

Hello. In new version i set Volume Control with mouse wheel - when RMB is pressed, it is works but now I can not use the mouse gestures with RMB in browser. Is this a bug or a normal behavior?

Thank You and sorry for my English

If 'Block/Delay original button action until chord is established' is enabled, disable it and try the gestures again :)

Now try this:
In the 'Button Chording' window set 'Disable' for the RMB.
I works for me here :)

EDIT: Oh crap, now you can't use the RMB at all :(

Yeh, welcome to the wonderful world of problems with button chording. The only answer is use a different button or put up with it I'm afraid. There is nothing else that can be done - either you block the mouse button until its released, or you don't block it and then it behaves like the normal button would when you release it.

At user level (mouse hook level) that XMBC operated at, there isn't any alternative that I can think of. :(

I'm afraid that in the moment these are the only 2 options that you have: either you can't use the gestures or you can use them but the context menu will show up every time :(

Let's hope Phil could come up with some workaround

Meanwhile I can suggest using {VOL+}/{VOL-} in another layer and a modifier key to switch to that layer. You will have to use keyboard + mouse instead of only mouse, but you will be able to use the gestures and won't see the context menu :)
If you need help on setting it up - just tell me!

Of even better, for volume, create a profile for the system tray (where the volume control is) so the wheel on its own changes the volume when hovering there - its great, but no good for fullscreen applications!). There is an example in the profiles subforum already I think.

Hello,
Been using this software for a long time. My main use of this software is to browse IMDB while viewing cast pics in full without opening their profiles.
But since yesterday this is not working on IMDb.

Has IMDb changed their image url or something? Is it only me? Please see into this & support IMDb again.

I am using XMBC 2.14 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit.

There is nothing specific to IMDB in XMBC so if something has changed, its probably not anything I can help with - other than to suggest workarounds - please let me know how you have XMBC set up - how have you configured your buttons?
