Unused buttons on mouse

Hi, I've got little problem with my mouse. Its Genius ergo 525 http://static.clickbd.com/global/classi ... iginal.jpg
and X-Mouse cannot recognize few buttons. Left, right, middle and scrolling works and shows in program fine, but tilt wheel and Mouse button 4,5 does'nt work. It only works in Genius drivers, but I want to set those buttons to some buttons on keyboard and use it in games. Any idea how to use them?

Not another one :( thats 2 devices not working in a week - i hope this is not a pattern. I presume you have tried the generic HID device drivers?

If XMBC does not see the buttons, I don't know there is much I can do, I'm not familiar with the genius driver/software but in logitech's setpoint, you can make the buttons send the "normal" messages which XMBC can then remap but it is not default. Is there anything you can set the buttons to so they do work with XMBC?

Thanks,
Phil.

PS. This thread should have been created in the XMouse forum not other stuff - no worry I will move it :)

As I said. Buttons that every mouse has work fine (RMB, LMB, MMB and scrolling), but other buttons like tilt wheel won't flash orange when pressed.

System knows that they are there, tilting works in browsers and volume + sensitivity change (on the side of the mouse) works too.

Yes and as I said, maybe there is some configuration required in the genuis software? I don't know it so your on your own there unless maybe someone else here can help.

Personally I've not seen a mouse with 5 buttons and tilt that does not work with XMBC, even if some config in the supplied software is needed (setpoint). But that does not mean that there aren't any - I've generally only ever had MS, Logitech and generic (e.g. trust) mice.

XMBC Uses standard windows mouse messages and I'm sorry, but I cant buy every mouse in the world, so if your mouse does not send standard windows messages for buttons 4, 5 and tilt then XMBC wont see them and be able to re-map them.

What OS are you using? tilt is not supported at all on XP because XP does not have native tilt support.
You could turn on debug logging in advanced settings and then see if there is anything in the log when you press 4/5/tilt BUT I'm pretty sure there wont be anything because if there is, the highlighting should happen.

I don't really know what else I can say or do to help :(

Tanks,
Phil

I'm running windows 7 - 64

And Genius driver doesn't allow to change setting for tilt. Just every program cannot support every mouse, I'll figure it out somehow or let it be, its nothing important realy, but thanks for trying to help.

Likewise, if I think of anything, or get one of those mice, I will let you know what I find.
I'll be ordering some new pc bits soon when the Ivy bridge cpu's come out - maybe a few mice would be useful hehehe

Thanks,
Phil

Firstly, why have you hijacked another thread that appears to be irrelevant to your question?
Secondly why have you NOT READ THE RULES before posting (or ignored them)

And finally, you should be able to fix this using the "Ignore repeated remapped vertical scroll" on the options tab, but why should I bother going into detail when you didn't!

Another thread hijacker, re-waking a thread from 2015 - well done!!

XMBC does not support more than the first 5 buttons as described in the FAQ so I wont repeat myself AGAIN!
How can you change these buttons in Windows? Windows does not support more than the first 5 buttons either, unless you mean with the manufacturers software?

And why would you thing manually editing the XMBC settings file would magically make it do something you cant do inn the GUI. If you can't do it in the GUI there is generally a good reason!
