The packed Russian translation is v.2.18 beta 8 (2018-06-03). :|
Odd - I must have missed that one - thanks for pointing it out. I will try and make sure the 2.18 release version gets the latest files for all the languages here!

Regards,
Phil

OK I have built the 2.18 release with all the latest language templates (I hope).
Check it out here before I release it to the world tomorrow or Saturday!

I translate the instruction and see that the option is from the settings, and not the current setting. Leave it or change?

Make scroll window scroll window under cursor
Makes the scroll wheel scroll one page at a time instead
of line by line.

Make scroll window scroll window under cursor+ – sends scrolling
messages to the window/control directly beneath the mouse
pointer, as opposed to the one with keyboard focus

They are two different options. The text on page 5 is wrong (clearly).
It should be:

Hi Phil,
At the bottom of Simkeys panel, there are "Cursor Position: X,Y (AX, AY) - XXX, YYY (xxx, yyy)" labels [ *** hereafter, I will write the valie of "AX, AY (xxx, yyy)" as "xxx, yyy" *** ]. In the help text, {ASET:x,y} is explained as "relative to active window" and {PSET:x,y} as "relative to profile window".
In practice, "xxx, yyy" is equivalent to the value of {PSET}, and when it is described as {PSET;xxx, yyy}, it functions as numerically, but {ASET:xxx, yyy} does not function properly.
:?: I think that the "Cursor Position: X,Y (AX, AY)” labels should be replaced with "Cursor Position: X,Y (PX, PY)”...

Thanks,
suke.

I don't know when it seems that the "Japanese.xmbclp" file (old translation by prairial) is being replaced with my "Japanese2 v2.18 Beta 7" in the package.
The actual difference between prairial's old "Japanese.xmbclp" and my "Japanese2.xmbclp" is not based on dialects, there is only a difference between the corresponding XMBCs versions, so perhaps there are no Japanese users who using the old "Japanese.xmbclp" translation at the current XMBC.
prairial - who participated in the translation project at the time of v2.4 - should be praised for his achievement, but I think it is time to remove the "Japanese.xmbclp" file from the package. (In the first place when I began translating, I had to post as integrated with the old prairial's one...)

Yes I think you are right... Needless to say a lot has changed since 2.4 :)
The problem, if I remove Japanese 2, and just have one file, then anyone using Japanese 2 will maybe miss the fact and stick with an old version of Japanese2 rather than Japanese which will be the most up to date. What might be better is to leave Japanese2 (the file name) and just change the content name and description to simply "Japanese"

Not sure about this... the active window is not always the profile window - the profile window may be a subwindow in the active window or the profile may be generic (default) with no particular window associated. There is a difference. If ASet is not working then I need to look at that, but I don't think removal is sensible because they can be different.

Currently, most Japanese users may be using "Japanese2.xmbclp" translation file. So that, to make it unnecessary for current users to change the language setting (users who update from very very old versions need to change the setting)... OK, I changed the content name and description to simply "Japanese" and leave the filename "Japanese2.xmbclp" - as you say.

Im sure.
But as far as I tried, it seems that PSET is the only one that work as per the values of "AX, AY"s xxx, yyy which displayed at the bottom of the panel, and those values are always displayed as "relative to the window class under the cursor position" (even if the profile setting specifies a "window class" or NOT - specifies only "application.exe" -). In ASET, it is almost the case that the mouse pointer moves to the position as expected when I specify different values from "AX, AY"s xxx, yyy ...
I added a comment to my translation "Sometimes AX, AY seems to be appropriate as the values for PSET".

Hi Sonoro,

The zip file you linked to seems to work fine for me - that is it loads and translates XMBC correctly.
I notice the template was 2.17 beta 16 rather than the 2.18 template - so there will be a few things missing but it must be better than the old Spanish template based on v2.4 (ages old!).

I will add this one to the next release of XMBC.

Thanks,
Phil

I'm just about to push out 2.18.6 - another couple of minor fixes. This one does have a new setting - but its ONLY visible on Windows 7 and earlier as its related to the XMBC Volume/Brightness OSD which is not needed in 8.1 and later. This is due to a "bug" where the OSD did not respond to the scroll wheel in all cases as expected which caused me to add a new option rather than change the behavior for all (I wouldn't normally add options in a bug fix update but I didn't want to change the behavior globally for those who prefer it working the way it does already).

As its only visible on Win 7 and earlier, I'm not too concerned about updating all the translations prior to release. If you want to send me a new translation file that that's fine, I'll stick it in before the next build.

Here is the updated template just in case.
