It was not a coincidence, after Suke reported the problem with the description field, I looked at the code and thought "how the hell could it work" and asked Suke to test it - and it didn't work LOL.

The link does not appear to work... So I cant quite work out what you mean. But I think your going to struggle to get single columns, due to the way some of the strings are written in the software. When the link works I will try and see what you are getting at.

Thanks,
Phil

OK, I think you need to change the number of \t (tabs) either add or remove them as required to line things up.

Hi,

you must add or remove (one or more) \t as a tab stop sign

you can use \r\n as a line break

Delete one '/t' before {F1} and {MWUP}. Add one '/t' before {SEARCH} and {CASLOCKOFF}. Check how it will look after that.
You could add one '/t' also before the rest from {Wait:n} to {CLEAR} (only before the first ones in the line).
The rest might be tough, cuz lines are too wide to fit after adding space so leave them. I hope I helped.

Thank you. I'll try to change.

There was another problem. Can not translate a string that does not have the original pattern: Enter an integer between %1 and %2.

P.S. For some reason, the error shows 2 times. Click OK, an error, OK in the error box, again this is the same window with an error.

The Russian translation has reloaded.
The previous link is relevant, but here is one more source:

Yes, they are standard windows/MFC errors not generated by me/XMBC so I cant apply the translation to them.
I either need to remove them and do the validation myself, or we just forget about them for now (which has been my preference so far as doing all the validation myself looks like a pain!).

The reason the error comes up twice, is probably because there are two fields failing validation (and its impossible to know which field it related to - which does perhaps mean doing it myself, I could do a better job and describe it better!). I will add an entry on the todo list but I don't expect I will do anything about it in the 2.17 beta run!

The translation in beta9 is the toughest I think. :?

The line 'NOTE: <M>, <L> & <W> can be specified in decimal (eg. 16) or hex (eg. 0x10).' seems not to be translated.
And if I didn't know what hex is I would think it's a curse, cuz that's the only translation of that word. :lol:

What is a Window Message? Are all the windows words are simple words or an OS name?
What's the difference between post and send? I have only one translation for both words.
What are LPARAM and WPARAM? Are they not suppose to be translated?

The line 'Swap 4th and 5th button actions when connected by remote desktop (RDP)' seems to not be translated too.

You're really not making this easy for your translators. :P

It seems that the issue reported in the last replying has not been fixed.
The same behavior occurs even in the latest beta version.
sukemaru wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2017 8:46 am "Right", "Left", "Enter", "Escape",,, are replaced with translated sentences, i confirmed.
And
the new added line #123, in GUI

Code: Select all

Sw&ap 4th and 5th buttons actions when connected by remote desktop (RDP)
(spelled buttons).
If i try replacing the line #123 with above, it will be translated. But i dont judge which expressions are right, as you will.

The line #467 ("NOTE: <M>, <L> & <W> ... hex (eg. 0x10).") cannot be translated. And I don't know about programming, so I have not confirmed about this new feature/function...

The author missed the letter. Most likely, corrected a typo in the intermediate (non-public) version and did not fix it in translations.
Use
"Sw&ap 4th and 5th buttons actions when connected by remote desktop (RDP)" => " "

It is a pity that it does not take into account the transfer of lines when describing the translation. I wanted to use the place with good.
I made the transfer of lines by adding a lot of spaces, but this variant has its drawbacks:
If the text is scaled differently and different fonts are used, the paragraph may fail;
Increase the size of the file, although not great.

About the text of program errors. If the compiler does not allow adding localized resources when generating an exe file, you can add the lines manually in the program's compiler with a translation that will be provided by the translators in a separate file.
Example error_string.txt:

Code: Select all

Language=Russian
LangID=1049 #Based Microsoft Locale ID Values https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ms912047(v=winembedded.10).aspx
#String with error text
61714=Введите целое значение между %1 и %2.
#Or
"Enter an integer between %1 and %2." => "Введите целое значение между %1 и %2."

Russian translation, as far as possible.

Added a link to the description of new features, since without examples with explanations I could not adjust anything. I read the article, but the level of programming knowledge is not sufficient for understanding.
