This Autohotkey script works in a similar vein to XMBC but has functions not available in your program.
In short it allows for a mouse button to simulate the scroll wheel in a grab & drag style a la Adobe Acrobat Reader. DtS also has the ability to specify different scroll methods.
To have the functions of this script incorporated within XMBC would be nirvana.-
