Not all buttons work - Logitech Performance MX

Post by lockheed »

XMBC Version: 2.14 portable
Windows Version: 10 Pro
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logitech Performance MX
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc): Ryzen 7, 64GB RAM
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?): No
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?): No
How long have you used XMBC?: 1 year
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: PL

Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).:

Since I started using XMBC (on various Windows machines), the last two buttons on my Logitech Performance MX were never detected and this I was unable to configure them. I wanted to know if there's something that can be done, or I have to live with this.

These are the buttons not detected:
- "Zoom" button (which I want to use as "Back" in browsers)
- thumb bottom button

As stated the the F.A.Q. XMBC can only see 5 buttons + wheel and (one) tilt. this is because it uses Windows mouse hooks subsystem and those extra buttons are not routed through that system so XMBC simply cant see them.
There is no way around this using the Windows mouse hooks system, so no there isn't a way around it with XMBC alone - you would have to still use the logitech software for those extra button (which may or may not play well with XMBC at the same time!).

I see. Thank you for clarifying.
Unfortunatelly, I do not have admin account on those systems, so I cannot install SetPoint on those Windows machines.
