What is the right button set to? Anything?
I don't play minecraft but I can't see any reason for anything to not work (especially if you deleted/reset the settings).

Can you try actually EXITING (fully) XMBC by right clicking the tray icon and selecting EXIT?
XMBC can only re-map (interfere with) buttons while it is actually running. If it is not running then the problem lays elsewhere!

So make sure XMBC is not running and make sure the button behaves normally is the first step.
If that is the case, then tell me exactly how you have setup XMBC (maybe send me a copy of the settings) so I can see what may be having such an impact.

Regards,
Phil
