Are you using the installed version or the portable version? And are you sure it is not running - the installed version runs automatically on startup and puts its icon down in the system tray by the clock (sometimes Windows hides the icon).

See the question: I've installed XMBC , now what? in the FAQ for more.

I'm using the installed version and the software runs in task manager but it's doesn't do anything and the icon only appear after I manually run the software

Check in task manager, on the startup tab is XMBC (X-Mouse Button Control) is listed there and not disabled or anything silly.
If it is, then it should run at startup.
If not, you can add a link in the startup submenu of the start bar (I think that still exists in Windows 10 but I'm not sure) or if you are familiar with the registry, you can add the startup command in there (Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run) that what the installer should have done!

You shouldn't need to use task scheduler to run it!

Thanks,
