Question on XMBC (Scroll wheel macro disables upon a scrollable page / custom hotkey to enable/disable window profiles)

Post by js4924248 »

XMBC Version: v2.19.2
Windows Version: Windows 10 Pro 64bit Version 1909
Mouse Information (brand/model): Glorious Model O
How long have you used XMBC?: 2 days
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: English (UK layout)
Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).: I don't have a problem, but I was wondering if the program can function in a particular way which I may not know how to configure. I use this program to have a thing called scroll wheel reset in the game 'Fortnite', which has my wheel down bound to simulated keys which are "{MB4}{WAITMS6}{BACKSPACE}" if you want to know. I want to know if I can configure it so whilst I am in game (no scrollable page), the binds work, but where there is a scrollable page (note: this isn't in a separate window, this is just a scrollable part of the UI ingame), the window profile stops working and the page scrolls normally. If that is not possible, is there a custom hotkey I can set, like 'Ctrl+P' to pause the window profile, allowing me to scroll whenever and enable it again by pressing 'Ctrl+P' again (so I won't have to Alt+Tab to XBMC and uncheck the window profile tickbox)?

Thanks.

EDIT: Found the hotkey settings to disable and enable XMBC. Could I not have a hotkey to enable/disable window profiles? Anyway, I don't think I need disable individual profiles, just asking. Still curious to know about my other query though.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay - missed this one somehow.
As you have already found, the hotkeys are global and not profile specific - so Im afraid you cant disable a specific profile, but I don't think that should matter in this case - disabling XMBC as a whole should be just fine I'd have thought.

The actual issue - I suspect (and Ive not played fortnight on the PC) that there will be no way of determining if the cursor is over a scrollable area or not. Its not like "normal" windows where you can examine the window "class" under the cursor - all XMBC will see is fortnight's window. So no, I don't think it will be possible to detect if the area is scroll-able or not I'm afraid. So I think disabling XMBC is the only "simple" way to go - or maybe switching layers (where one layer has scroll setup normally and the other layer has the simkeys) but I think there is little advantage to that complication over simply disabling/enabling XMBC.

Regards,
Phil
