How to CTRL+Button 4 = next tab on Chrome ?

Post by mattdel »

XMBC Version: latest
Windows Version: 10
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logitech M500
Relevant Computer Information (CPU, RAM etc): 16
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC? (If so, from what version?): nope
Did the problem occur after a Windows update/upgrade? (If so, from what version?): nope
How long have you used XMBC?: 1h
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: FR

Clear description of the problem - try and include as much information as possible, including what button and mappings you are having problems with (if applicable).:
I think after searching A LOT that XMBC can do what I need, but not sure as I didn't succeed to set the proper paramaters. The problem is I often need to make next/previous tab on Chrome when I have one hand on the keyboard and the other one on the mouse. I would like to replace the CTRL+PGUP/DN that I shoul do on the keyboard by something like CTRL+BTN4 => next tab and CTRL+BTN5 => previous tab.

Of course I've tried things but lead to nothing...

Thanks for your help !

No mention of what you have actually tried.. Things doesnt really do it.
Have you tried layers and layer modifier keys? CTRL may be a problem - but try this....
1. Create a profile for Chrome.exe
2. Ensure you have at least two layers available
3. On layer 2, for the scroll wheel up/down, select "Simulated Keystrokes" and enter {PGUP} / {PGDN} (both method 1)
4. Turn on layer modifier keys (settings)
5. Set Layer 2 to Control (and none in the key field)

That *should* do it, but beware that CTRL may conflict - I think in this case it will be OK but I'm not 100% sure.

Phil, I have to thanks you A LOT !
First I've tried random things as I didn't understand the philosophy about layers, so my tries were impossible to be successful. Second I thought about going from one tab to another with Side buttons 4 and 5, but in fact the mouse wheel action thta you suggest is way more better, and that works perfectly !
Mouse wheel without any other key = scrolling the page
Mouse wheel + CTRL = next/previous tab
Just perfect !
