{run:%userprofile%\file.exe}

Because I use same XMBC profile on differently named computers with differently named users where are differently named disks I can't use just {run:c:\users\specificuser\file.exe} for all computers I work on, as 'specificuser' differs for every computer.

I know you bound XMBC to Windows run command. Unfortunately the only I can't do with that using XMBC are fast commands, like those surrounded by % characters.

For next Beta please allow us to use variables with run command by that or other way, so any you find will be easiest for you to implement.

Really? I'm surprised that doesn't work already! Something I do quite a lot... But I guess I don't use the run commands much so probably never noticed. That's a nice (I hesitate to say) easy one! :)

I just realised I posted this request even month after you released current XMBC version, so probably time to start working on next Beta is coming :) Anyway, when you are ready will join you in your tests again :P
