XMBC 2.19 Released

Post by phil »

I've just released X-Mouse Button Control version 2.19

Version 2.19 brings several new features and enhancements along with many bug fixes and minor changes.
You can find the latest version (including the portable version) in the usual place, on the downloads page (mirror).

For a complete list of changes, check out the version history.
The user guide (included in the installation but not the automatic updates) can also be found here or here (mirror).
NOTE: I have updated the user guide to reflect the changes in 2.19 but the XMBC update does not include this (to keep the download sizes small). The URLs above will provide the latest version, as does the full installation package.

PLEASE NOTE: This topic is locked. If you want something to be added or you have found a bug or you want help in setting up and using XMBC, please create a new topic of your own where your issues or ideas can be discussed. When doing this, please provide as much information as possible (see posting rules for details).

Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has helped me beta test this release, and especially to all those providing the language packs/translations. (B)

A small update.

2.19.1 Released (16th March).
This has one little bug fix that targets a lockup in XMBC that occasionally happens when resuming from sleep / hibernate.
It was reported by two or three people so not a major problem so I have been sitting on this for about a month while it has been tested and proven to resolve the issue by those who reported it. I figured it was time for general release, after I got a few more reports recently.

You can find the latest version (including the portable version) in the usual place, on the downloads page (mirror).

For a complete list of changes, check out the version history.

Regards,
Phil

Another update: 2.19.2 has been released.
This should fix the problems with XMBC when waking the computer up from sleep/hibernation or when logging back into windows.
It should also fix several other minor issues reported recently.

As always, you can find the latest version (including the portable version) in the usual place, on the downloads page (mirror).
For a complete list of changes, check out the version history.

NOTE: Some people may see a message "Windows has protected..." this is SmartScreen in action.
2.19.2 has a new software signing certificate (same provider, same everything - just has to be renewed every 12 months). And because of that, it may take a while before Microsoft trusts it. You should be able to hit the "More actions" link and say "Run anyway" but in newer versions of Windows, this "more actions" link can be hidden/disabled - in which case you either have to wait, or modify the smartscreen settings to make the option available again.

I understand and appreciate why Micrsosoft are doing this - too many nasty/bad/malicious software... Once again the bad guys spoil it for the good good guys! There is nothing more I can do to make this any better, other than simply wait for SmartScreen to catch up with reality and trust the new installations again!
