Phil, I noticed last 3 green dots as end of 'Held for' process are lighter than 1st and 2nd. If XMBC is able to recognise how many held options were chosen by user then to indicate there are no more appropriately the first or second could be lighter too as the last one(s).

Regarding my previous post to injtsvetkov it would give just 6 chaced icons, so not many to think about?

Personally I like the current version.
And I already said earlier that after last held action is executed dots should vanish.
And btw, what the option "wait until physical button is released" does anyway? I don't see a difference. 🤔

Newer version wouldn't differ much. The indicator would change from circle in place of first dot to 3 little red points that due to newest idea would disapper to be replaced by first dot, then next ones if available.

As I said everyone is gong to have their own opinions... I do think the "big" empty circle is ugly (too big) and I quite like it as I put in my video...

But really, personally I like the option set so that you don't see anything until the first timer goes off (and so you don't see the + on chording till the chord is active) - that way every time I press my right button it doesn't surprise/distract me :).

Obviously Ive already changed it to implement what I showed in yesterdays video.... I may change it again, but what I don't want to do is get into a "I want it this way" "I want it that way" battle! There is only so much configurability I'm going to put up with!

Here's Cursor.mp4 if someone missed it to compare with current vers. and that's discussion, not a battle ;)

That's the point, I also think during first attempts to make icons & solution for 'Button Held' we temporarily ended up with ugly empty dot, so I proposed something more friendly, that wouldn't be doubled by 1st dot.

Now I also agree first sign (whatever that is) is not needed, but I was taking that into consideration as you(?) initially wanted user to know 'Button Held' (or other feature like 'Button Chording') was initiated.

If you say now that's no needed, then there is no problem, we will only see another dots each time the time for certain one has been elapsed.

Each of us is aware to what button 'Held' feature was assigned, so we don't need reminder by initial sign, however having something tiny (specific for feature) that would not distract the user would be still fine.

You mean when other key is pressed together with first (chord one)? If so then the PLUS would flicker for some specific amount of time, how many miliseconds for instance would be best (if I understood you well)?

As I explained to someone else last week this option is related to actions that use a held type thing - so any simkeys during/repeat while down and any click drag type thing you will notice - it wont release the action until you release the button, where as without the option it will release the action straight away and you won't be able to use during/click drag etc.

Like I said before, what mostly matters to me is the functionality (lightweight and intuitive), it doesn't matter what exactly the first shown symbol is, especially when there is an oprion to not see it at all. Phil's already got our opinions and I suggest we stop bothering him about that. Whatevet he decides is gonna be good for all of us and we are all gonna be happy :)

Okay, thanks, that makes sense. So with that option dots should stay and without should vanish after the last action would be executed. Please implement it. :P
Now I'll just need to untick it in all my held actions.

I noticed in latest version Chording plus color is not red but white. That's fine as it makes less distraction. It could be same then for Held dots for unification if they have to be kept, if not then it'll be okey too :)

Its red here and no planned change!
Dunno why/how it would be a different colour for you!

I have no idea how the colour could change but I set chording in some application and then default profile as well. The little plus with BETA 13 is white for me, but in Beta 11 (and maybe BETA 12?) it was still red

In the video I made to show the dots, you should see in there briefly that I did initiate chording and you can see, its red for me (just checked on my work PC and thats red too). White on its own is bad seeing as most of the time, the cursor if over a white(ish) background!

I don't say to change red to white, I only say for some reason in latest Beta it's white for me, but why?
I tested it at home and in work, so it's weird, maybe some other users could say how it is for them :?

Ahhh hold on... Its "grey" until the chord is activated... then it goes red (if you have the option enabled to show before the chord activates).
That is by design - I have that turned off (only shows [in red] when the chord is actually running!)

I noticed that the gray plus is smaller and hasn't its center in the same place as the red one. When I activate chording and red plus appers I still can see a gray horizontal line from that plus. Is that on purpose?
