Idea to make more mouse keys possible

So, I'm not someone who knows a lot about this stuff, but as far as I know, windows can handle function keys up to something like f24. Perhaps you could use the software on mouses with more buttons to bind it to one of these function keys that are not used, then intercept the function key instead of the mouse button, and turn that into a mouse key function thingy. Again, I don't know much about this, so I've probably overlooked something.

Sorry for not replying.. must have missed this one.
Well in theory its possible - but you would be better off using autohotkey to detect those keys and deal with them, as XMBC does not do anything with keys right now (except of course the layer modifier keys) and to be honest, I'd rather work on trying to get more buttons working (if at all possible) direct. The main problem I have these days is quite simply finding the time to even look at XMBC!
