Using Scroll Wheel in Bookmarks

Post by skeeber »

XMBC Version: 2.18.2
Windows Version: 10
Mouse Information (brand/model): logitech
Computer Information: Asus
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC or Windows?: yes
How long have you used XMBC?: 4 months
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: english

Clear description of the problem: Before the upgrade I could scroll through bookmarks using the scroll wheel. Now I have to hold the control key down. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it still does it. If I disable x-mouse it works like before. I don't want to hold down the control key to scroll through bookmarks.

Scroll through bookmarks in what? A browser, if so which one?

Im on holiday right now but when i get back, if you have answered the above, I'll have a look and see if I can reproduce it.

Thanks,
Phil

Hi,

OK, please can you tell me exactly which bookmark view in chrome? So you mean the menu or the bookmark manager (CTRL+SHIFT+O) or something else?

I find that the bookmark menu can not be scrolled unless I hold CTRL down (so I expect this is what you mean) but it didn't work in the previous version of XMBC (2.17) either - I presume when you say before the update, you mean you were using 2.17 and that "worked" and are now using 2.18.x and it does not work (which does not seem to tally with my findings!)

I have fixed the scrolling on the bookmark menu for the next release, but if you mean something other than the menu I need to know because I will probably need to fix that too!

Thanks,
Phil

Yes, it's the menu view. It may have been two updates (or more) ago that it worked, I'm not sure, but I just recently realized it doesn't work anymore. I just know it worked before and doesn't work now. :) Thank you.

OK good - that means it will be fixed in the next version - its a chrome specific window class issue (that is, xmbc has built in rules for scrolling specific window classes) so if chrome rename their window classes then it will break the fix (maybe that is what happened since it last worked).
