Next/previous window

Post by myrath »

XMBC Version:
the last one
Windows Version:
10, 64X
Mouse Information (brand/model):
Logitech G603
Computer Information:
Dell Inspiron 15 7000
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC or Windows?:
no
How long have you used XMBC?:
Few weeks I guess
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?:
Hebrew-English.
Clear description of the problem:

The Next/previous window function doesn't seem to take me to the previous or next window. It's just randomly picking one of my (many) open windows - Any chance to solve this issue?
I really don't want to use the Logitech program...

Thanks in advance,

Re: Next/previous window

Hi Dan,

The next/previous window options in XMBC simply execute the Windows hot-key ALT+ESC (next window) and ALT+SHIFT+ESC (previous window) so if they are not doing what you expect, I'm afraid that's a Windows bug and not an XMBC one. For XMBC to do this itself would be a hell of a lot of complexity that shouldn't need to be there as Windows itself is supposed (and did) to offer this feature through these hotkeys!

I believe someone else has found that a recent Windows 10 upgrade has changed the behavior of these hotkeys - which might explain the difference you are seeing?

Can you check using the keys (ALT+ESC) and (ALT+SHIFT+ESC) and see the the "random" behavior is the same as in XMBC?

Thanks,
Phil
