XMBC Version: 2.18.1
Windows Version: 10; 1809; x64
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logilink ID0130
Computer Information: Asus A55V
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC or Windows?: no
How long have you used XMBC?: ~5 years
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: German
Clear description of the problem:Hi Phil, I like XMBC very much and use it since several years. But I Have a problem and I don't know, if you can help me: Since the ninetees I use an office software from Star Division: Star Office 3.1. I like it very much and use it since 1996 in different Windows Versions. I don't remember when the problem occured, that the mousewheel didn't work. Perhaps it was in Windows 7 or later in Windows 10. The Wheel doesn't work with CorelDraw! Select Edition from 1998 too.
Since 2003 I had a Medion wireless 5 button mouse with a Desktop Computer and with Windows 98 and Windows XP it worked fine. Then I changed my computer and upgraded to Windows 7, but the mouse was still the same. The driver delivered with the Mouse was at least incompatible to Windows 10 and I used the driver from Windows. In combination with XMBC I could use all 5 buttons. Since 2 years I have a Notebook with Windows 10 and the Logilink mouse has the same problem.
I think, it is not possible to make the wheel work with XMBC because it is no driver, but perhaps you can give me an advice where i can find a driver, that works with every mouse.
Thanks for your time reading my request

Re: Mouse wheel in older programs
Hi, as promised, I'm back and I will try and answer your question.
I say try, because its an odd one that I'm not really sure I know the answer!
1. Firstly, are we talking about the vertical scroll wheel or is there another wheel?
2. Is the mouse connected by USB or PS2?
3. What driver are you currently using - is it the Generic USB/HID device? If so then I'm surprised the wheel does not work at all. Are you sure the wheel actually works at all (if you plug the mouse into another/older computer)? Because its possible that it may have physically (electronically) stopped working and sending messages.
4. Without XMBC running, I presume the wheel does nothing at all (does not scroll your browser window for example) - can you confirm that?
Thanks,
Phil

Re: Mouse wheel in older programs
Hi Phil,
thanks for your answer. The last time I was busy and had not much time. But now I'll try to reply to you.
The problem is solved. While I was writing a lot to you I searched for the driver for my Medion mouse and found one. This time I installed it in compability mode to Windows XP and it works fine. Sorry for wasting your time. Earlier it didn't function and so I never tried again. Now I use both the driver and XMBC and everything is fine. Thanks for your time reading my question.
