mouse clicking completely disabled - help!!

Post by stanraij »

XMBC Version: latest
Windows Version: 7
Mouse Information (brand/model): standard mouse
Computer Information: windows 7
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC or Windows?: no
How long have you used XMBC?: few days
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: US

Clear description of the problem:

One of my employees somehow disabled all mouse click functions on her PC.

After installing X mouse button she was messing around clicking the mouse with various combinations: mouse click + scroll wheel.

By doing this she completely disabled the mouse clicking function on her PC.

She can still move her mouse cursor but there is no way to click anything. Therefore also X Mouse Button software cannot be uninstalled.

At this point her PC is basically not able to function because there is no way to click anything.

So i am looking for a solution, possibly a clicking combination (+scroll wheel) of the mouse (or a keybaord combination) reverse the action she did before.

Otherwise i would be forced to buy a whole new pc :x :x

Buy a new PC? Don't be so dramatic! Worst case, a Windows reinstall/recovery would wipe/reset everything software related - and that really is worst case.

The simplest solution would be to turn on scroll lock as by default that disables XMBC - at which point you can go an fix the configuration error or uninstall XMBC. Of course that assumes that the user has not changed the default!

This comes up far too often, but its a tricky one to search for as everyone phrases the question slightly differently - I must update the FAQ!

Anyway more solutions here: https://forums.highrez.co.uk/viewtopic. ... 280#p17280

Let me know if your still stuck.
Thanks,
Phil
