XMBC not working with Some Applications (Q-Dir and Everything Search)

Post by weebee »

XMBC Version: 2_17
Windows Version: 10 (1803)
Mouse Information (brand/model): Logitech, Victsing
Computer Information: 64-bit computer
Did the problem occur after an upgrade of XMBC or Windows?: Has always existed
How long have you used XMBC?: about 5 years
What language and keyboard layout do you use in Windows?: English, QWERTY (physical keyboard)

Clear description of the problem:
XMBC not working with some applications (Q-dir and everything search). When I create an application/window profile and pick a specific window (using hover, for example), it correctly extracts the process, class etc. However, after creating the profile, when I move the mouse over the window, it does not detect it. I don't see the profile name turn red as it's supposed to and, of course, the mouse settings don't work. Is this a known issue?

Its not a known issue - Ive never heard of those applications but maybe there is something specific/common to them?!
No idea what may be the cause... I'll have to investigate.
Are these programs free/trial?

Yes, they both are freeware. Everything search is available on the voidtools website and q-dir on the q-dir website.

Does Your Q-Dir window is active ?
Let the PC do the hard work = AHK + C# + HTML/CSS/JS + XMBC + Clavier+ + AutoLisp + VBA/OOB

Yes, it's active. Even after clicking on it, the issue persists.

There's list of users that donated author of other product for his work. You could have the same subpage where people can make donations and leave some comment that'll be visible for everyone.

I think you could put DONATE button also in for ex. right upper corner of your forum, as here people come most often than to main page where they download XMBC and probably never go back again. So donate button on that page may have less power.

Oh I get it now... Urm, yes I used to have a donate button on the forum I think many years ago. I'll see if there is a plugin for PHPbb to do hat when I get a moment (not in any rush to do it though!). As for the comments - I'm not so sure - it will mean additional website work, yet another database of some sort, more to go wrong etc! As in, right now the donate buttons all go straight to paypal and nothing needs to be stored locally
