XMBC 2.15 Released!

Post by phil »

I've just released X-Mouse Button Control version 2.15

Version 2.15 brings several new features and enhancements along with many bug fixes and minor changes.
You can find the latest version (including the portable version) in the usual place, on the downloads page (mirror).

For a complete list of changes, check out the version history.
The user guide (included in the installation but not the automatic updates) can also be found here or here (mirror). I have updated the user guide to reflect the changes in 2.15.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not post feature requests or bug reports in this topic. If you want something to be added or you have found a bug, please create a new topic where your issues or ideas can be discussed.

Once again, I would like to thank everyone who has helped me beta test this release, and to all those providing the language packs/translations.

And no update related problem reports yet... or crashes... Things are looking up (and I hope I havn't cursed itby saying that)

For fun and info....

Since September 2016 when XMBC 2.14 was released...
  • 2.14 Installations 1,423,544 downloads and 1,298,704 counted installs*
  • 2.14 Updates (x64) 83,527 downloads and 51,018 counted installs*
  • 2.14 Updates (x86) 16,029 downloads and 7,671 counted installs*
Since 2.15 was released yesterday (about 34 hours)...
  • 2.15 Installations 11,960 downloads and 8,360 counted installs*
  • 2.15 Updates (x64) 8,162 downloads and 6,752 counted installs*
  • 2.15 Updates (x86) 842 downloads and 635 counted installs*
Oh and for what its worth, in terms of beta coverage, they only get about 200 installs (including my own) so there have been many many more 2.15 installs in the last 2 days and no major issues reported yet :).

(*) Downloads counted from my primary download link only - does not count my mirror or third party hosts (esp. those that maybe hosting the file themselves without asking me first!). Counted installs are only a roughly estimation based on how many views the "You have successfully installed XMBC" web page gets hit.

So many users and so few beta installs :(. At least I hope they are increasing, albeit slowly

Actually for something like XMBC, 200 beta testers (that count was just for 2.15 b15 which is only a week or so old) is quite impressive - but of course, its never going to be enough to flush out all the little bugs.

200 "beta testers" would be quite impressive indeed, even incredibly awesome, but counting the people who post in the beta threads, I have a strange feeling that some of those 200 beta installs are... I don't know... maybe made by accident or by people who merely hit install when they see that new version is available just because it's a new version, not caring at all what has changed and so... I hope I'm wrong though :?

I think you are right - but then again, if people are installing the beta, at least if there is a big problem, it should get found quickly (as has been the case). Of those 200, I'm probably at least 10 of them myself with all the various computers I have :)

Yea, as i think of it now, Kukurykus also has at least 2 machines, so most probably some part of those 200 installs are made by the same people which further decreases the number of real people who are beta testing :?

I'd like to see more testers on this forum posting like I see only 3 users do (Injtsvetkov, BriHecato and me). They could bring their ideas like we do. It's really ackward that so great tool like XMBC isn't appreciated more than harder in learning Autohotkey. There are much more posters than here. But yes, with AH people got chance to create their own programs. If they knew Phil can hear they 'voices' so good here like normally programmers from big companies never do they would change their minds fastly. Why not to invite them :)

I very much enjoy this application and think I may have found a bug. Ever since the release of 2.15, my mouse does not recognize left/right wheel tilt while the right mouse button is being held down. This was not an issue with the previous version. My mouse is a Logitech G5 Laser mouse. Please let me know if I can add more information to help.

That is odd, my Logitech G9 works fine and can still see the tilt messages when I hold he right buttons....
Can you try turning on the debug log, press tilt left/right a few times, then hold down the right buttons and press tilt left/right a few times, then send me the debug log?

Also, what ave you got RMB and TILT assigned to (if anything)?

Thanks,
Phil
