It's a good idea, there is a similar thing in excel when you insert long formulas the matching parentheses are in the same color so you could see whether and where you need to add more brackets to complete the formula. Let's see what Phil thinks and whether it's worth discussing that in the next beta round.

When I have long codes I edit them in excel coz the text field is wider and then paste them in SimKeys to test how it works.

Interesting idea but the code to do that would probably be more than XMBC is alone.
I would have to write a proper parser, a coour/ricjtext box = nightmare!!!

I'll add it to the todo list BUT its going to be rather tricky so wont take a high priority!

I supposed that it's gonna be complicated and also I'm concerned about whether such a thing would make XMBC slower and heavier. That's why I was also thinking about using different fonts (or even bold/italic...) instead of colors, but I'm not sure if there will be any significant difference or it would be pretty much the same in both cases :?

As I think of it, if for example tags like {CTRL}/{ALT}/{SHIFT} are bold, and those {waitms:100} are italic, and the other letters and numbers are normal, it would probably make them distinctive enough to easily make the difference between them

Fonts or colours make no difference - will still need some sort of richtextbox and parser. Either are going to make XMBC heavier - these things are more difficult to do in lighter languages.... Not impossible but also not sure its worth the bloat!

Well assuming it will be used by only a small amount of the users, maybe it's not worth the bloat nor the effort :?
Or I don't know have you ever thought about making some kind of add-ons for XMBC so each user can decide for himself whether to install it or not

There are syntax painters and highlighters libraries (like in notepad++ for different coding languages). Could be something similar.

But first
More Buttons.
then
more colors.

LOL I keep saying, more buttons is incredibly unlikely!
So that may mean never more colours!

Kukurykus wrote:When I use it simply to LMB click it's okey, I can click anything I wanted before dealy time is passed. But when I want to drag something then I have to click (press) and hold that item / image I pressed by left mouse button and wait 500 ms is passed. Only then I can move mouse to drag something I clicked 500 ms earlier. I mean a cursor of mouse react in no time only I click something, but the action of dragging works only after 500 ms :(
FYI: Ive found already that not being able to drag without waiting 500ms is a real PAIN IN THE ....
I have already started working on 2.16 Beta 1 and the very first thing, is the option to cancel chording if the mouse moves (5 pixels or more right now seems to be perfect)... So if you start dragging, it works (and cancels the chord).

I will start a 2.16 beta thread soon so we can start all over again :).

Thanks,
Phil

Great news, but I suggest to let users choose (in settings when this feature is avalable) how many pixels they want a cursor of mouse moves it stopped chording. Just funny, but today at work I thougth about it and tried to see how my mouse react when I move it slightly more or less. To be honest I have no opinion for now that should be 1, 5 or 100 px. Preferably best if everyone could test it on their own like with other such options, for example chording delay.

it needs to be a small number... 5 seems to work really well, and if I don't need to offer a choice, its much easier. 2.16 beta 1 is now out with this fix only so we can play around and see if it works as it is :).

And as the 2.16 Beta thread is up, I'm locking one.
