Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
You're the codemaster, don't stop experimenting.
Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
OK, here is XMBC v2.12 Beta 11.
If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get the full installation beta HERE. Note that this link will always get you the latest beta version!
Changes since v2.12 Beta 10:
Any problems, PM me a copy of the log file (or post a snippet in a code block here).
I think I'm pretty much feature complete now on 2.12 - hopefully only tweaks and bug fixes to go before release.
Thanks,
Phil

Changes since v2.12 Beta 10:
- #349 - Added "Change movement to scroll: lock axis" option so that its easier to scroll in only one axis.
- #347 - Robustness - Fixed a crash when resuming from hibernate (related to #332)
Code: Select all
# -- Added in 2.12 Beta 11
"Change Movement to Scroll (Lock Axis)" => ""
"Change Movement to Scroll (Sticky Lock Axis)" => ""

Changes since v2.12 Beta 10:
- #350 - Robustness - Improved code that checks window captions for profiles. This previously could cause XMBC to lock up if the target window was not responding or locked out.

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
so, with this latest beta (12) when dbl clicking on the tray icon a small window with 2 vertical bars opens on the desktop and then it all locks up requiring a kill.
gonna try b11...

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
Yes I know about that one - I think I've fixed it already....
Once I know my fix is working I will make beta 13 public (hopefully tommorrow).
If you need a link to beta 11, here it is: https://www.highrez.co.uk/scripts/downl ... on=2120011

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
I have 2.12 Beta 10 installed on Windows 10 x64, but the automatic upgrade to Beta 13 resulted in an error:
So I downloaded XMouseButtonControlSetup.2.12 Beta13.exe from the link in the first post on this page, but I got another error:An error occurred while running the update package.
Please visit the website to download the latest version or try again.
Hope this info helps. Nothing urgent, I'm very happy with Beta 10.

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
Very odd - both the link atop this page and the update have worked on all the 6 computers I have tried it on (win 7, 8.1 & win 10). What version of windows do you have?
Can you have a look at the exe file you downloaded and tell me what the file size is (and even better, the checksum if you have a tool to give you that information?) I can only assume that the download has been corrupted for some reason. But for that to happen twice, would suggest a problem with the server perhaps.
Has anyone else here had any such problems?
Thanks,
Phil

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
Success! I tried the automatic update from 2.12 Beta 10 to 2.12 Beta 13 again today (on Windows 10 x64 Build 10240), and it worked as expected. Sorry for the trouble.

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
No issue so far on B14, but I'm still putting my money on 16 betas!
Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
LOL... 16 - that's a bit optimistic isn't it? Here comes beta 15 !!! (Thankfully not a new bug but an old one that I've just fixed - this could be it... who knows!)
EDIT: I really want to avoid having to immediately release a 2.12.1 because something serious has gone wrong (much like has happened for the last 3 or 4 final releases). I'd rather have more beta versions. The problem of course is that relative to the number of users, the number of beta tests is very small (roughly 300,000 users of 2.11.1 vs 60 users of the 2.12 betas). So its always a risk!
Thanks for you help using the beta versions though (all of you!).

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
It would be good if you could get the download progress to work correctly ..
It shows Downloaded X of Y
in all case X and Y are always the same (increasing in value)
I have never seen Y be the size to download
X = Y = count of bytes(?) downloaded
In addition the Green progress bar is always at max.

Re: XMBC 2.12 Beta
