Numlock, Capslock, Scroll lock as modifier keys?

Post by xpclient »

Thanks for fantastic and free app.

Similar to Shift, Alt, Ctrl, can you please add Numlock, Capslock, Scroll lock as modifier keys for layers? For example, on my laptop, the scrolling area SUCKS very badly. Often when I am just moving the pointer it randomly scrolls. So I would like it to scroll when scroll lock is off and if scroll lock is on, disable the Wheel Up and Wheel Down.

Hi,

For 'layer modifier keys', it might be possible but I don't think it will work for 'global hotkeys' (as they use standard windows API's).

Which were you referring to?

Thanks,
Phil

Oh sorry I wasn't clear. I meant Layer modifier keys. Not Global. It will be so much easier to scroll with touchpad depending on Capslock or Scroll lock state.

OK, I thought thats what you meant... So if scroll lock is on, it activates a different layer.
Should be doable I guess... I have already added it to the list - probably for 2.8 as I want to get 2.7 out asap and its pretty much feature complete - just one or two minor bugs left!

Thanks. Looking forward to it :) Personally I think it will be quite revolutionary because an on-off state that is easy to toggle layers is so much easier than pressing and holding down a hotkey. It will be fantastic for laptop and tablet touchpads. (B)

Scroll lock on=scrolling locked/prevented with Wheel Up/Down on touchpads
Scroll lock off=scrolling allowed
