Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

Thats odd - its working here, at least it works for volume UP. I have found though that volumne down (using the keyboard key and XMBC) gets accelerated after 4 or 5 nothes then it shoots down really quick (does not do this going up). Turns out this is a Windows "feature" lol - who knew I intend to "...

Re: XMBC Beta 2.20

Hi Is there a way to permanently switch between layers in a profile without using global hotkeys? Yes, you can switch layers using XMBC's context menu (in the tray by the clock) and it should stay there until you change it (via the menu, the hotkeys or a mouse button). But what exactly has that got...

Re: Keyboard not working after boot windows

Well that was a complex one to diagnose - its difficult to debug something before you logon :)
Anyway I think Ive found the problem and worked around it. 2.20 Beta 5 should fix this (available in the beta topic here) if your interested in testing it!

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

You can try 2.20 beta 5 if you want (which includes my fix earlier among a few others)

Re: XMBC Beta 2.20

I've just released 2.20 Beta 5 It should primarily fix the broken scroll wheel remapping (causing repeated actions) which was reported above in beta 4. Please keep this beta thread on topic. It is for announcements and reporting bugs in the current beta, NOT for requesting new features and/or asking...

Re: Keyboard not working after boot windows

Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update or restart. Turning off this settings solves the problem! Interestingly I don't have that setting - maybe its because my PC is joined to a domain. I'll...

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

It IS an XMBC bug. It worked FINE before 2.20 beta 4.
2.20 Beta 4 included a "fix" for smooth scrolling which actually broke this. Its a known problem that I hadn't gotten around to fixing.
Ive fixed it now so beta 5 will be all good again.

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

I'm wrong, it gets a single scroll message per nothch (as I thought it was supposed to) but then it goes and gets the number of lines, and repeats the action that many times - doh! Thats clearly done for a reason - I will have to investigate what the reason was, otherwise changing it will likely bre...

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

OK Yes I see the problem. For each single "notch" scroll, XMBC receives <Number of Lines> messages from Windows... So it sends <number of lines> volume keys, reducing the accuracy. I'm not sure changing the number of lines is the answer here (as that is rather inefficient as it has to broadcast a sy...

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

Yeh the Volum Up/Down AND simulated keys {vol} commands all just send the keyboard volume keys, so whatever they do is all XMBC can do at the moment. I have no idea if those keys are configurable. Its never been a problem for me as I don't need 100 levels of volume (I'm not sure I've ever had an amp...

Re: Double Click Will Not Go Away

Firstly, as a quick "get of of this situation", if you have the "default" settings, turn on Scroll Lock (sometimes ScrLck) using the key on the keyboard (some laptops might not have this key or you might need to use the FN key to activate it). When Scroll Lock is on, by default XMBC will disable its...

Re: Holding+Chording algorithm ?

Hi, I'm afraid it is not possible to chord and use button hold (or visa versa) in the same macros. That why the chording options are not available in the button held configuration, and button held not available in the chording configuration. They are mutually exclusive. I'm not sure if it would be p...

Re: Is such a function possible?

I don't think you understand. This is not a limitation of XMBC and can't be "fixed" in XMBC. If you can persuade Microsoft to change Windows to send keyboard input to another window, then XMBC could do it - its not an XMBC limitation. Oh and there is zero chance of Microsoft doing that by they way, ...

Re: Is such a function possible?

Do you mean a simulated keystrokes script in XMBC (I presume you do mean this!) or something completely independent to XMBC? XMBC profiles are window specific, and any input is sent to the Windows input buffer, which is then passed on to the ACTIVE window by Windows itself. If the active window chan...

Re: Logitech button causing Windows App Switcher to pop-up

Yeh, thats the default for that button - it may only work when Logitech software is installed and I presume you can configure/disable it through the Logitech software (if its installed) - although I havn't tried recently.
