Re: Updating fails

No folder missing - it should just download the update the the temp folder. Just had a look at the code, the error deleting the old file, and the error deleting the cache are probable not important (its probably just becuase the files are not there to be deleted (not really an error - it should prob...

Re: Updating fails

Stranger still... If you copy the path from the log (without the filename) and paste it in to explorer, does it take you to the right/valid place? Interesting about UAC, I don't think I've ever tested XMBC with it turned off (turned down perhaps but not off completely) - I wonder if that's related!....

Re: Moving from PortTalk to InpOut32

Good luck - maybe you could get in touch with Doug? It must be possible with InpOut if that is what he is using - maybe he can advise how he is able to write to the higher address ports? Id be a bit wary still of relying on InpOut32 with the driver requirements of Windows getting tighter every relea...

Re: Updating fails

Urm, there is no update to 2.19.2 (unless your trying to update to the beta version??) Not sure what would be the cause, if there a file XMBCUpdate.exe in the temp folder? Do you have permission to delete it? It seems to be complaining that it cant delete the old file. And yeh - I cant see how the c...

Re: Moving from PortTalk to InpOut32

If I recall correctly, there is a long standing bug in the long call inside the driver itself. I can not fix it as I don't have the ability to sign the driver even if I wanted to! A search of the forums should find more info. But you seem to have missed/conveniently ignored my comment that I can not...

Re: Moving from PortTalk to InpOut32

Sorry, I ported InpOut32 to x64 many many years ago. I did not write it so I can tell you why whoever wrote it decided to use signed shorts. I haven't got the time, reason, or ability to maintain/modify InpOut32 - In order to build the driver, you need a driver signing certificate which is only avai...

Re: n

Sorry, XMBC can not distinguish and apply different actions for a click of a double click. All XMBC knows about is pressed/released and does not have the ability to assign different actions deepening on how many clicks in a certain period. Windows normal double click recognition is done after the le...

Re: XMBC Beta 2.20

I've just made 2.20 Beta 6 available The things changed in 2.20 Beta 5 are: #755 - System Tray Icon does not get removed correctly. #754 - Fixed an issue with VOL- caused by the native Windows acceleration of the VK_VOLUME_DOWN key. Added support for new simulated keystroke tag {VOL:<%>}. Added supp...

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

Thats odd - its working here, at least it works for volume UP. I have found though that volumne down (using the keyboard key and XMBC) gets accelerated after 4 or 5 nothes then it shoots down really quick (does not do this going up). Turns out this is a Windows "feature" lol - who knew I intend to "...

Re: XMBC Beta 2.20

Hi Is there a way to permanently switch between layers in a profile without using global hotkeys? Yes, you can switch layers using XMBC's context menu (in the tray by the clock) and it should stay there until you change it (via the menu, the hotkeys or a mouse button). But what exactly has that got...

Re: Keyboard not working after boot windows

Well that was a complex one to diagnose - its difficult to debug something before you logon :)
Anyway I think Ive found the problem and worked around it. 2.20 Beta 5 should fix this (available in the beta topic here) if your interested in testing it!

You can try 2.20 beta 5 if you want (which includes my fix earlier among a few others)

Re: XMBC Beta 2.20

I've just made 2.20 Beta 5 available. It should primarily fix the broken scroll wheel remapping (causing repeated actions) which was reported above in beta 4. Please keep this beta thread on topic. It is for announcements and reporting bugs in the current beta, NOT for requesting new features and/or...

Re: Keyboard not working after boot windows

Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update or restart. Turning off this settings solves the problem! Interestingly I don't have that setting - maybe its because my PC is joined to a domain. I'll...

Re: How to mouse scroll finely when changing volume?

It IS an XMBC bug. It worked FINE before 2.20 beta 4.
2.20 Beta 4 included a "fix" for smooth scrolling which actually broke this. Its a known problem that I hadn't gotten around to fixing.
Ive fixed it now so beta 5 will be all good again.
