Re: Trackpoint keyboard natural scrolling with middle button

Maybe there is something sending the "wrong" type of scroll message. XMBC (and I presume the others) uses a mouse hook to intercept WM_WHEELSCROLL messages which are usually sent by the device driver. Perhaps something is also send a WM_SCROLL type message to the window directly. Given that every wa...

Re: 2 different questions about wheel tilt and mouse scroll speed

Completely agree on the whole light pollution thing. The only light I want is from my monitor thanks very much! I have the same problem with headsets too (but at least the light can be turned off (every time you plug it in lol). Have to say, the backlit keyboard on my <gaming!> laptop is actually qu...

Re: Mouse acceleration

Ahh I see, OK thats not going to be so easy.... So profiles are switched automatically based on the active exe/window - so it wont be possible to switch automatically during the same game. Normally I'd say use layers - but thats for button configuration, and not the scrolling settings that are only ...

Re: 2 different questions about wheel tilt and mouse scroll speed

OK to the repeated messages - this is not unexpected - thats how all tilt mice work. However there are several settings in XMBC - the one you mention was the first and not so successful attempt to work around it, but if your using a remap (sim keys or other) then on the "Options" tab of the profile,...

Re: 2 different questions about wheel tilt and mouse scroll speed

Sounds like your pretty much there. For keys to use - you could try F13-F20 (not normally on most keyboard but I think supported) instead of scroll-lock or pause - you can also turn off the "Disable XMBC when scroll lock is on" in XMBC advanced settings - but beware if you do and you reconfigure the...

Re: 2 different questions about wheel tilt and mouse scroll speed

1. XMBC is looking for the mouse message Search Results WM_MOUSEHWHEEL (horizontal wheel) for the left/right "tilt" functions. That is default on mice with tilt wheels (where the normal scroll wheel also tilts left/right) but I don't know about mice with second physical wheel as I'm not seen one mys...

Re: Mouse acceleration

Just to be clear, ALL XMBC is doing with the mouse cursor speed (and the enhance pointer precision setting) is changing the standard Windows mouse pointer settings. No more, No less. *If* Windows has an acceleration setting (in the pointer settings), its normally not visible so may not be available ...

Re: Feature Request: custom Scroll Speed

Your post and thinking makes sense. The amount of work it will be however, means the chances of me findin time to do it (along with all the other things on my list of things to do) means if it does happen, it wont be fore a while. You'd have though that with the current situation in the UK/World I w...

Re: Feature Request: custom Scroll Speed

I don't know, but I don't think this will be possible... The scroll speed is a Windows setting that XMBC modifies. As far as I know, Windows itself only has one setting?!

Re: Logitech MX Master 3 "wheel mode shift" button not recognised

Hi, 5 Buttons (left, right, middle, 4th and 5th (4 and 5 are known internally in Windows a XButton1 and 2 - hence the name of the software!) and then there is scroll up, scroll down, tilt left & tilt right. In total that makes 9 configurable items, 5 of which are buttons. I thought that it was clear...

Re: Logitech MX Master 3 "wheel mode shift" button not recognised

Sorry, I'm not considering this - as it is simply not possible. The FAQ covers why XMBC will only work with up to five buttons + scroll/tilt - that is all Windows mouse hooks support, and that is how XMBC works. It's a little sad that I have to keep repeating this, after all, what is the point of a ...

Re: "Task View" assignment crashes Windows Explorer

You could try reinstalling XMBC but I doubt it will help. corrupt files is unlikely - for starters there are only two files and it wont run if they are "modified" or corrupt. And you settings file (which wont get removed when reinstalling by default) could get corrupt but thats going to impact the c...

Re: "Task View" assignment crashes Windows Explorer

Hi, That's very strange... All "Task View" does is send the keys WIN+TAB - so I'm not sure how that could cause explorer to crash - unless of course the problem is actually in Windows explorer - or something else thats interacting badly with Windows Explorer!? If you use the keyboard (WIN+TAB) - doe...

Re: Possible to install without internet connection?

Should be possible but I havn't tested it recently. However, you must make sure your Windows root certificates are up to date else you may have problems running XMBC after installation. XMBC runs as an accessibility tool, for which it needs to be digitally signed. Those signatures are updated (yearl...
