Will increase the width - is one line going to be enough or should I make it two lines high too?
Thanks...

Here is 2.19 Beta 8...

If you have check for beta versions enabled, you should get notified of a new version and prompted to update in the next day or so. This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get the full installation beta HERE. Note that this link will always get you the latest beta version!

NOTE: 2.19 Beta 1 and 2 had an incorrect version number internally and therefore the update check may fail. In this case, please manually install using the link above!

Changes since v2.19 Beta 7:
  • #629 - Fixed transparent icon with new cursor speed indicators.
    Changed indications to show nothing (no dots) for speed 1 (default speed).
    Fixed some issues in settings tabs after adding new pointer tab.
  • #611 - If XMBC is not allowed to set/override mouse speed, it will now NEVER touch the speed (so no cycle speed, slow down cursor, sticky slow cursor etc.)
  • #612 - Fixed missing button on older systems (Windows XP)
  • #581 - Ability to change cursor when button chording, button held, changing layer and per profile
    to give visual feedback of active mode/layer/profile.
    NOTE: For profiles you can add your own cursors to the settings folder and they will appear in the list of available cursors.
There is a new language template file for 2.19 Beta 8!

Any problems, PM me a copy of the log file (or post a snippet in a code block here).

Thanks,
Phil

Background with mouse speed yellow dots is now transparent, so it's okey. The notification baloon shows them centered, but when I look closer at XMBC icon I see they are aligned to right of one pixel.

windows resizes the 32x32 icon to the taskbar tray icon size... I think the resize may be causing that (esp. if its good on the bigger notification icon) so there wont be anything I can do about that - other than re-position - but then it would be wrong in the bigger notification icon. It will also depend on the size of the systray icons - if you have the taskbar set to small or large icons I guess...

Im not going to worry about 1 pixel!!! :)

Yes I had small size of taskbar, but when I changed it back to normal the icon size left the same.

I must say yellow dots for 'Button Held' is a good idea. I 'felt' the change, but now I can also see it ;)

Yes I like it too - I also like the button cording feedback quite a lot (I actually don't use button held much myself) although I'm not yet sure that the '+' is the best graphic option - but there isn't much you can do in GDI with RECT and CIRCLE!)
I also quite like the layer number added to the cursor and the ability to add a specific cursor for a profile but prob wont use them much myself.

XMBC has actually so many options that 2 layers are sufficient for me. Numbers by pointer look good, but to be honest I always was able to control them seeing what baloons just showed. Anyway like I say I use only 2, so for people having them many more it may be much more useful.

Yes, choring icon is a little too big, that's the one I temporarily disabled to not be showed.

Thanks to yellow dots of Button Held I can finaly decrease time between another options I have assigned.

For now breaks were like 0, 500, 1000, 1500 miliseconds. Now when I see when exactly to release button I can minimize them to 0, 250, 500, 750 miliseconds ;)

Without visual signs I never could be sure when to relaese button without mistakes, so expanding breaks to get something after 1,5 second (that I could use often) always was making me unhappy. Not anymore ;)

Yeh things like this are still the least of my worries. I frankly cant be bothered rewriting all the built in C++/MFC error messages when there are proper bugs/features to fix/add and I haven't had time to really look at XMBC for like 6 months. Priorities!!

I know but sadly it is not possible without either making my own error windows for all MFC errors or by using an distributing all the localized MFC DLLs... Changes of either are pretty much nill. (See the links that Dolmatov provided above where we have discussed this before).

@Phil,
Thank you for resolving the problem with the drop-down menu button missing in XP! :D I have confirmed how the menu is displayed and how it works.

I will report what i noticed about the drop-down menu display and its working in beta 8.

1. Items in the menu send wrong tags:

- "CapsLock Toggle" and "Scroll Lock Toggle" ==> {TAB} tag,
- "Lock X Axis" ==> {MSAVE:1} tag,
- "Lock Y Axis" ==> {MREST:1} tag.

2. Some labels don't seem to be translated correctly, because the strings overlap with existing items in the other panels.

- "&Refresh" (WEB refresh) <==> "&Refresh" of Choose Application dialog.
- "&Left / &Right / &Middle Button" and "Wheel &Down" <==> main windows items.
- "&Next / &Previous Layer" <==> Hotkey settings tab.

If possible, differentiating a new label with a space at the end?
e.g. => "&Refresh ", "&Left Button ", ...

3. Duplicating accelerators (in Default English screen):

In the main-menu:
- "&Standard Keys" / "Mou&se Buttons".

In "Standard Keys" sub-menu:
- "&Space" / "&Scroll Lock Toggle",
- "&Delete" / "Page &Down",
- "Page &Up" / "Pa&use",
- "Brea&k" / Scroll Loc&k Off".

In "Numeric Keypad" sub-menu:
- "D&ecimal" / "&Enter" (Num Enter).

In "Mou&se Buttons" sub-menu:
- "&Left Button" / "Re&lease" (sub-menu label).

In "Other Tags" sub-menu:
- "&Run application" / "&Release key (Methods 1,2,4,5,6,7 && 9)",
- "La&unch EMail" / "Brightness &Up",
- "H&old for <x> millisecond(s)" / "Send &only when pressing".

4. Excessive / missing ampersand signs:
In "Action Tags" sub-menu:
- "In&vert &Y Axis" ==> "Invert &Y Axis",
- "&Invert X & Y Axis" ==> "&Invert X && Y Axis".

Thanks,
suke

Here is 2.19 Beta 9...

This is the most efficient method (bandwidth wise) as the updates are only a fraction of the size of the full install. Otherwise, you can get the full installation beta HERE. NOTE: 2.19 Beta 1 and 2 had an incorrect version number internally and therefore the update check may fail. In this case, please manually install using the link above!

Changes since v2.19 Beta 8:
  • #612 - Fixed lots of errors with duplicate accelerator & keys
    - Fixed duplicate translation items (by moving accelerators)
    - Removed Lock X/Y from Movement Tags
    - Fixed Toggle Capslock incorrect tag
  • #581 - Fixed some issues with new cursor changing, esp. when disabling XMBC
    eg. via remote desktop (cursor remained changed).
    - Improved the 6 preset colours cursors.
    - Added translation strings for the 6 preset coloured cursors.
    - Changed cursor overlay for button chording so it is less in your face!
  • #663 - Fixed activate when scrolling option for Firefox (v70 and others?)
There is a new language template file for 2.19 Beta 9! Lots of fixes for the accelerator &'s and duplicate translations. They should all be marked as changed/removed/updated in 2.19 Beta 9

Any problems, PM me a copy of the log file (or post a snippet in a code block here).

Thanks,
Phil
