[request] Middle click on taskbar to close the application

Post by mikebo » Sun Oct 21, 2012 7:33 pm

Hi,

First of all I want to compliment you on this great software, it really puts Logitech SetPoint to shame.

I would like you to consider adding an ability to close an application by middle clicking on its taskbar button, just like you would close a tab in a browser. There are at least two apps that already do that:
1. http://mnowak.se/2009/12/11/middle-clic ... r-working/
this is what I currently use.
2. http://rammichael.com/7-taskbar-tweaker
this one has a lot more options.

I think it would be great if you could integrate this little feature (if it isn't too much work) into XBMC.

I think it might well be too much work. I use taskbar tweaker its great.
But I think I would have to hook the windows explorer/task bar which is not what XMBC does and is not really in its remit.

The problem is, just sending a close to the "window" under the cursor would close the taskbar not the program. So XMBC would have to interact with the taskbar and hook into its messages just like those other apps already do - and I really cant see a good reason to try and do this in XMBC when taskbar tweaker is free and light weight.

Thanks,
Phil
