XMBC Beta 2.3 beta

Post by phil » Fri Oct 07, 2011 12:41 am

Hi everyone,

XMBC 2.2 seems to have more problems than fixes but I have already fixed most of the problems in 2.3 Beta.

If your having problems with v2.2, feel free to try the latest beta and let me know your experiences with it.

The link is here. I will update this post with a whats changed list, but basically things broken in v2.2 should be fixed.

Thanks,
Phil

OK I've updated the beta, v2.3 Beta 5 has some more debugging (nothing else) to help try and diagnose some issues.

Here is the change list from v2.2
  • #74: Fixed issue causing some profiles not to be highlighted in the configuration window.
  • #75: Added debug logging to help diagnose erratic mouse buttons.
  • #77: Added ability in sim keys to set (on/off/toggle) num lock, scroll lock and caps lock state(s).
  • #78: Fixed a bug causing the right sim key tags RCTRL, RALT, RSHIFT in 'during' mode to be ignored!
  • #79: Updated the installer to fix an issue when rolling back to an old version. NOTE: to go back prior to V2.3 beta 4, you should uninstall and reinstall (you wont loose your settings unless you tick the delete settings box during install).
  • #82: Fixed a problem causing profiles to be ignored if the process name didn't match exactly (it was case sensitive when it should not be).
Let me know if you have any problems. I wont be rushing this one quite as much as v2.2 which appears to have been a bad move!

Thanks,
Phil

No more layers - but that wouldn't be too difficult to do (probably) not before v2.3 though lol

I have just updated the beta link to point to 2.3 beta 8

Here are the new fixes from 2.3 b7...
  • #85: Modified repeat detection to handle messages 0ms apart.
  • #88: Added a message to the setup screen when disabled via scroll lock or remote desktop (#90)
  • #89: Added "Sticky Left button (Click Drag) X Axis" and "Sticky Left button (Click Drag) Y Axis"
  • #90: Added option to disable XMBC when connected via RDP (remote desktop)
  • #91: Added "Change movement to scroll" option (universal scroll?)
Please give it a try and let me know if you find any problems.

Thanks,
Phil

OK Updated the beta - now 2.3 Beta 9

Changes since Beta 8:
  • #87 Added ability to use windows key and apps menu key in layer modifier keys.
NOTE: I'm not convinced this is a good idea yet because these keys tend to do system things.
  • #93 Fixed bug causing {SPACE} simulated key not to work in during mode
Please let me know if you have any problems, or if the fixes have the desired effect (if you reported the issue). The sooner I get feedback, the quicker I can confidently close the issues and release 2.3 :)

Thanks,
Phil

Regarding the Windows key (winkey) functionality, works good with what I was looking for. I set up the Left winkey as a modifier key with left click for restore windows, wheel up to maximize windows, and wheel down to minimize. Thanks - :)
